What People are saying

5 STAR DUMP!

nsboyd34 on 01/05/2016 18:17

Don't waste your money, on this project. The clerk was as friendly as a hungry pit bull. The place smell like marijuana, mixed with a locker room. We were supposed to have been in a mini suite but, the pit bull didn't tell us the jacuzzi tub didn't have knobs. We should have been charged for a regular room. This is no better than the Plaza Inn that's across the parking lot, just more expensive. People running and talking in the hall at 3 in the morning. Bottom line, this is a dump.

Unfortunate misrepresentation!!!

Awful place to stay! Friendly staff but this is nothing more than a run down motel for transient people. Bad neighbourhood, in the middle of nowhere. Building might look "ok" from the outside but do yourself a favour and do not stop here! The "non-smoking room I was given is in fact a smoking room - the furniture is a bunch of dented pieces from a garage sale, the place smells bad, other "patrons" look at best suspicious.
The place was advertised as being 6.74 miles from Midway airport: it is in fact a $50 usd cab ride! Don't bother!

How unfortunate!

The hotel lobby and room 611, which was the room we booked for a guest, looked fine. However our guests arrived late only to find that this facility felt very transient; the kind of activity going on in the parking lot caused them to feel uncomfortable and even fearful. How embarrassing... How unfortunate... the staff was friendly, the facility was clean, but because of the atmosphere we won't be using the Heritage Inn II again, and we definitely won't be housing any guests here.

Dirty and rundown.

Checked in with my daughter and didn't feel like cruising around Chicago for a trainable rate so decided to stay. The lady at the front desk was nice. I noticed there was an officer vest and all like maybe it had a history of incidents. Overlooked that and went into my room. Shower had hair in it still and didn't look like it was cleaned. Carpet dirty and sticky. The bedsheets had cigarette Burns on them and also spots of God knows what. The pillows were dirty and to top it off I picked the mattress up to check for bedbugs and found a condom. This is definitely the last time I stay here
Good price but I do not reccommend staying there. I was just too tired to look for something else.

Not what you might expect.

We arrived late on a Thursday evening and the front desk girl was nice. Her boyfriend (who said he worked there), just loitered around a bit drunk. I expected the hotel to be new because the advertisement said "Now open". That was my misunderstanding. The lobby, halls and meeting room were filled with what we later found out were residents at the hotel. Most of the people lived there!
When we got to our room, the door appeared to have been once opened with a pry bar! The frame was all out of wack and the door cracked. Luckily it locked. The towels were stained and there were burn wholes in the bedspreads. There was only the sheet and the spread, no blanket. The telephone was completely stripped of all it's numbers, letters, and instructions. The curtains were half unhooked from the rod. The decor was from the 80's. There was no fridge or microwave in the room as the advertisement stated, but we found out that there was one microwave and fridge in the breakfast area (which we did not even enter because all the residents hung out in there.)
No one was rude or unfriendly, but we felt as if we were "intruding".
It wasn't real loud, but there is constant movement in the halls, lobby, and meeting room at all hours. It also appeared that they might rent the rooms by the hour, but the sign behind the desk didn't approve of that. (See picture.)
We coudn't tell who was staff or who lived there. Definately not a place for women traveling alone.
For $50 bucks a night, we sure got our "no frills" stay. No complaints, just would not stay there ever again. We'd like a real hotel.
On a possitive note and the reason we picked this hotel; they allow pets at no extra charge.
