Went above & beyond

Had a lovely stay at your hotel. Was here with my son for a wedding. Bed was comfortable and bathroom roomy. Futon served its purpose. Very close to the church and reception venue. Check in very quick and easy. Good parking. The best thing about the motel was your wonderful staff. They went above and beyond when I inadvertently left my purse behind in the room. They called me as soon as it was discovered (unfortunately I had left very early and was already home in PA) and we arranged to have someone pick it up to mail to me. I am very grateful to your staff and a shout out to your housekeeper & Saul the GM. A very honest & reputable business.
Good place to land on our first time in Cape May

We tried to book places in Cape May in early August and knew something was up since many B&B's were already booked. We went to this motel and it was fine. Friendly welcome and clean rooms and steady to get to all of the sights, many a short walk away. We want to go back again and this will be a great option since it has free parking, a pool (if it warm weather),and rooms are comfortable with fridge and microwave. Only negative was ashtrays outside our room that were filled with butts (and we do not smoke).
Hotel, itself, warm and welcoming; both desk staff very UNwelcoming, unfriendly, and barely helpful!

Madison Avenue Beach Club Motel is in a quiet, residential area, and is a very pretty 2-floor walk-up motel, with spacious rooms and a very spacious bathroom, comfortable beds, and thirsty towels. Unfortunately, after the initial visual welcome to Cape May (of the motel), my visit was kind of clouded because of the very unwelcoming, unfriendly, and barely helpful check-in woman. She did not welcome us to the motel, crack a smile, or get up from her seat in the FREEZING cold office. Later, when I went to request an additional set of towels (I had told them that we would be 3 when I made the reservation, but the room was only prepared for 2.), she went to get another set from the back room, and handed them to me without a smile or apology. She did point to the general direction of where I needed to walk to take the trolley, and to walk to town, but wouldn't tell me where I needed to pick up someone from the bus, with the exception of telling me that it was "in the same general direction." I figured that this was just her, and that the man, whom I'd spoken to on a couple of occasions, upon making reservations, might be better, but he was at the desk when we checked out, and did not thank us for staying or ask us if we were satisfied with our stay. Although it shouldn't, unfortunately, the bordering on rude personalities of these 2 people really tainted my opinion of Cape May, and I really would not return.
I was also disappointed that the the chambermaid did not refill supplies (so bring your own), did not ensure that clean towels were securely on the towel rack (We found the heap of clean towels on the floor; perhaps they were never put on the rack to begin with), and that the chambermaid came in twice, on our last day, starting at 9:30, when check-out time was at 11, stating that management had told her that the room was vacant.
I can really NOT recommend this motel, despite the good points. IF you stay anyway, there's more parking in the back of the motel. Parking in the front, side, is a little tight.
Going downhill, seems mgmt stopped caring.

Stayed here 2 years ago and was generally happy - this visit not so much.
Booked a room for 4 people (2 adults 2 teens), was offered a room that had 1 queen and a pullout. When I checked in, room wasn't ready but clerk offered me a different room with same exact layout. I reminded him there was 4 of us and he assured me the room was exactly the same. When we got to room, there were no sheets or pillows for the pullout and not enough towels. Not a big deal at this point, I would go back to office and requests the missing items, except no one was there. Checked back awhile later, still no one in office. So, I called an left a message requesting the items.
Short time later, saw the clerk pull into the lot and told him of the issue and that I was the one that left a voicemail. He told me he'd take care of it When we got back later that night, sheets were there but no pillows or towel. My daughter used a rolled up beach towel as a pillow for the night. (we aren't ones to balk much).
The following morning we left a note for the maid that we needed 1 more towel and a pillow. When we got back later in the day, beds were made but still no towel or pillow.
After my 4th request, the clerk finally brought us all the items we needed.
Our bed, the sheets had a tear. There were a few left over garbage items from previous guests (beer bottle caps) that didn't get cleaned up before our visit or during our 2 day stay. Lot's of dust on the TV's and ceiling fans. Several exterior lights needed replacement. 1/2 roll of toilet paper and no spare roll in room. Kitchenette with no sponge or cleaning items.
pool was still nice. Price too much for a motel in this class and with this many petty issues
Overall, seems like mgmt. stopped caring about this place
Great stay!

We just got back from our visit to Cape May and we were pleasantly surprised by this little motel. It's in a residential area away from the crowds. Within a few minutes walking distance to the beach and downtown areas. The room was just what we needed for our little getaway. The staff was very friendly. Maria at the front desk was very helpful. She offered us a variety of places to eat and shop. We will be returning again!
