We stayed here for a night over the summer - we booked at least 9 months in advance concerned about going in the high season. I think its overpriced, but... we really wanted to stay in Jasper. Its a long walk from here to downtown.

Motel like lodge with nicely redone rooms. Bed and pillows were of good quality. Reasonably clean, I’m picky and hate seeing hair which there was some residue! Needed reminding to clean our room at 4 pm! Pool clean and well kept but a bit cool for little ones. Hot tub is small like ones u have at home. Front desk very nice. Good value at $110 via Hotwire!

I stayed at this lodge a couple of year’s ago and was pleasantly surprised. This time was not so good. It was late October and right at the end of a comfortable and safe drive through the Rockies. I spent a couple of days doing Banff and Lake Louise and on to Jasper. Temperature was around -5C at its worst, +3C at its best. I was told to get out in two days because heavy snow was due. I was successful.
At Maligne Lodge it was pretty dead as October sits between the summer tourists and the winter skiers and isn’t a popular month at all. The Lodge restaurant was closed for dinner through October so had to go into town, not a great hardship, The room was a bit threadbare and worn and a bit disappointing. WiFi was fine. The bed was comfortable but annoying little things like the clock being at one side of the bed and telephone at the other. The cable was long enough to get them on the same side so I moved them. Ditto the table for using the computer was out of range of the charging point. Again I had to move the cabling which was pretty poor with loose connections. The reception staff was very helpful but overall underwhelming. But it was only Can$79 so can’t complain too much (even though I have).

We stayed here for 2 nights whilst touring the Rockies. Good points: helpful staff, Good pool, good sized room, comfy bed with clean bedding, clean bathroom with good toiletries, on site cafe is very good for breakfast
Not so good points: room is very dated with old fashioned heavy furniture, electrics look like they need updating, ceiling fan/light did not work, room heater/cooler did not work, fridge had a load of dirty water in it and floating insects! We obviously didn't use it.
Overall, this hotel had a good lucation and lots of points going for it but we felt it just needed a bit of tlc. My sister and family were staying at their sister hotel Tonquin Inn which seemed nicer when we visited

Very friendly and informative staff, comfy beds. Stepped into room and carpet badly stained with sign on wall to please remove outdoor footwear. Washroom toilet paper roll broke, missing screw, shower nearly letting go, cracked around it, hair was on bathtub. There was no microwave as advertised, just sign saying if wanted one check at desk. Fridge was plugged in but shut off so had to leave things in cooler till got cold. Very thin walls for nbrs. noise. Both the hot tub and pool had signs closed for maintenance. Same next day but I grouchily asked cleaner about sign and told me to disregard it. Thought was clever way of keeping pool clean lol. The pool didn't open till 10 am as rooms around it. Would have been nice earlier, however I waited and enjoyed morning swim. The fitness area was 3 or 4 pieces of equipment in a corner up above pool. The little deck off the room was nice, absolutely amazing mountain view. Was in a good location, walking distance to main area. Despite the negative parts, I would consider staying there again due to location, price and comfy beds. Did get to check out the hot tub, was nice however railing was broken and someone could have easily gotten hurt leaning on it. Water and bubbles were nice and relaxing.
