What People are saying

Restaurant/Bar Experience

danisewell on 19/11/2017 00:32

We visited the restaurant after reading reviews prior to our visit and believing we were going to be dining in a high quality restaurant. I can honest say, we wouldn’t visit again. To start our waiter got our starter order wrong? Which meant my partner and I ate 10 minutes apart. We were willing to accept this as an honest mistake as I believe he was new, but things went from bad to worse... the food was luke warm, bland and didn’t even come close to its price bracket! The service was ok, but again didn’t meet the price range. You need to have an overall review if you want repeat business, and to compete with high calibre restaurants.
As a plus note, we had a few drinks in the bar and the staff in this area were outstanding. In particular Dan is an asset to you!! He alone would make us want to revisit your bar!!

Amazing

What a fantastic hotel! We stayed over for our 5 year wedding anniversary. Staff were very friendly and helpful! The room we stayed in was lovely bathroom out of this world. Would recommend it to anyone and will definitely be returning. Complimentary coffee in the room was very tasty.

Lovely Hotel, shame about the restaurant.

The hotel room was lovely, the staff on the hotel side were very friendly, the receptionist as we were leaving was really friendly. The restaurant lets the hotel down which is a shame, the service at breakfast on the second morning was really bad, a female staff member took our order for tea, coffee and toast, twenty minutes later I had to go and ask the same staff member her reply was "oh yes were are you sitting" she took our order!!!!! What really annoyed me two ladies came in who were known to staff and there toast and tea arrived within 2 mins of then giving the order. Consistency is key, don't make customers feel like the poor relation. We ate in the restaurant on the first night, food overpriced for what you get, sent the sticky toffee pudding back, had to complain to get the manger to speak to me to get it removed from the bill. The service charge of nearly eleven pounds was also taken off the bill at my request, I will judge if the service is good not be told it was, clearly not a great experience. On coming back from shopping we went into the bar and my husband made his way to s seat, the bar man called over, you can't sit there it's reserved, where can we sit? Anywhere that's not reserved, very patronising!! I would not return due to this experience, it feels like the restaurant staff are programmed and cannot add any of there own personality and you need to drop the term "guys".

Two night break

Excellent value on the ‘Bed and Bubbles’ offer. Staff were very helpful, breakfast on the first morning was great and we had good service, the second morning things took a long time to order/arrive and unfortunately the toast was cold and only one teapot for three people with one teabag was brought until we asked for more. Rooms were lovely, loads of hot water (shower a bit temperamental) fluffy big towels and the soap was much better than normally found in hotel rooms. The hairdryer only seemed to blow cool air, not sure why and the plug to dry hair wasn’t near a mirror, minor inconvenience. Lovely comfy bed, very quiet despite a busy road at the back of the hotel. 20 minute walk into the centre of Liverpool. Easy walk to Albert Dock and the Museum of Liverpool.

Mid week stay

Visited on a Tuesday and the place was pretty quiet. Staff were helpful and we got to the hotel early and kept our bags in the secure room until check in at 3pm. The hotel was well decorated and the room was a good size. The lights were a bit dim in the bathroom and shower and it was quite hard to see, but this was all part of the mood lighting. Facilities were good and price of the hotel is average. It is located in a great spot in Liverpool to get to the Albert dock and also to the main shopping centre and bars/restaurants. There is a multi store car park next to the hotel, which costs £17 for a long stay up to 24 hours. Would recommend and stay again.
