Very hospitable,warm,courteous and very helpful staff.Stayed there for few months.The best stay in Varkala locationwise also.Friendly people all around.So it was really a wonderful experience.Even we travelled with one of the staff for a family trip.He guided us very well throughout our trip all over Kerala.His nice sister and family also very warm and welcoming.Charming Kerala2016.Good luck to you guys.

As the title suggests, we enjoyed our time at Mango House so much that we extended our three night stay into a fortnight away!
We had a room on the top floor with en-suite bathroom and private balcony, and it was beautiful. We were there in low season so it was incredible value, I think even in high season the price would be worth it. The location at Helipad is perfect and only 5 mins from Varkala Cliff, the main tourist drag.
They have a well equipped kitchen and a supermarket and veg shops just down the road, we cooked many meals and enjoyed them on our balcony with a beer most nights. The host Joe was lovely and was happy for us to extend our stay as long as we liked, I think he could have also helped with anything if we needed assistance.
This was our favourite accommodation in all of the 7 weeks we spent in India, I really couldn't recommend it more. The shower didn't work so well (but the tap was excellent), there are ants everywhere and there are power cuts pretty often, but this is India and you'll experience this everywhere in the country. Love love love Mango House!

Perfect cheap place to stay. 2 minute walk to the beach. House right in the green lush trees. Quiet away from the roads. The owners are super helpful and are very happy to sit and educate you on India while having a relaxing drink on the front chairs or hammock in the trees. Kitchen facility and every room has toilets western toilets. And there is beach gear and drums to use :)

We stayed for one night, everything was clean, walking distance from the beach and near all reataurants and shops. 5 minutes walking maybe. Quiet area, next to other guess houses. Also close to taxis.

The most important thing that made me love this place is the budget rooms, clean and cosy.There is a shared kitchen that you can avail at any time, a small garden with seating arrangements and even the balcony and veranda.
This place is luxury for a middle class Indian who don't need toilet papers at all. :P
