This is an average place to stay. They are undergoing renovations and we did stay in a newly renovated room but....the cabinet that appears to hold a mini refrigerator was empty/missing refrigerator - disappointing but not worth complaining about at 9 PM. The bathrooms are nice but whoever does the grouting on the tile in the shower should find new job. The new tile is sloppily place and distracts from the overall quality of the shower/bathroom. The large open bar/lobby area is nice, but the 'modern' (70's looking) chairs are very uncomfortable and are not conducive to visiting with friends. We ate in the restaurant (another review). They are doing their best to maintain a modern, elegant feel during renovations but something is missing.

The rooms were clean modern and recently renovated. There was no microwave which surprised me a bit. The room was fresh and clean but hallway outside my room had a funky smell. The room Windows are not insulated at all and are literally FREEZING to the touch. The gym was nice, clean. and well equipped. Overall it was a good stay.

Every time I have a weekend of meetings at the Marriott in Albany NY
I have pleasant if not great experience .
I need assistance with my luggage ,and the moment I arrive the valets come up and just take care of me.
No questions asked.
Also they are al out finished with updating the rooms.
And they are very taste full done .
They also have the best beds !!

Room is great and hotel staff are excellent but when asked for a card for incidentals there was a hold put on my card of almost $700. Room plus incidentals. Wish I was told that as it put a negative balance on my bank card. Would have used a credit card if I was told that instead of my bank card!😣 Chalk it up as another lesson learned!

Stayed here for a conference. I was very surprised to learn of the renovations and to have an updated room. The room was modern. Comparable to other Marriott's. I could see they were still working on the smaller details such as racks, phones, light fixtures, drapes...but the room looked good and the mattress was amazing. I would have just given them a 4. But the entire staff from front desk, to housekeeping, to service staff were all very courteous and helpful. I mean every last one. That's deserving of a 5.
