We were greeted by very friendly staff and give a great view of the river and Mt Hood on the 14th floor. The room was new and modern and relatively spacious. The TV had internet access and I loved that we could use our Netflix account. The bed was comfortable but the room was not very sound proof and we had a lot of traffic noise from below at night - our white noise app helped us sleep.
As noted in many other rooms the bathroom is very small. I have never seen such a small bathroom in the U.S. in a non-historic hotel. It's not really possible for two people to use the bathroom at once. Toiletries included shampoo, conditioner, lotion, shower gel and liquid hand soap.
The M Club lounge had a great hot breakfast every day and was open all day for snacks and drinks. It is closed Friday and Saturday nights but other nights there were enough appetizers to make a meal out of if you wanted to.

Let’s start with the positives. Great downtown location, near shops, markets, restaurants, overlooking Willamette River and the park. Spacious lobby, extremely courteous and professional staff, bountiful concierge lounge. All the things I have come to expect from Marriott. Our 15th floor room had a commanding view of the river, its bridges, and Mt Hood. The rooms have been recently renovated and contain large, wall mounted TVs and refrigerators.
However, the room space itself is quite small and the bathrooms are teeny. No room to move around, no place to hang up used towels or robes, poor lighting, very limited counter space. And if you like your privacy when using the bathroom, you might not care for the smoked glass pocket door that doesn’t really close all the way. If you get up in the middle of the night to use the bathroom, the light comes right through the door into the bedroom. And it’s easy to hear room noise from the bathroom, and visa versa. These rooms almost seem as though they were designed for the single traveler. And they are the norm throughout the hotel.
I’m a Marriott Platinum member but would not stay here again when in Portland.

The hotel was in a great location, close to restaurants and shops so no need for taxi. The staff are friendly, the rooms clean and comfortable. The Bistro is located in the lobby and is a great, casual location to eat, meet, and enjoy.

I really enjoyed my evening here. My room was very clean, the bed very comfortable and the view of the river was really nice. The meal from the Bistro was good and the drink made for me by the bartender when I said surprise me, really did the trick. I highly recommend this hotel.

We enjoyed our stay at the Portland Marriott. Check in staff were friendly and helpful and it was the perfect location for us to walk to various places. The room was clean and nicely decorated. We plan to return next year.
