ackafjon 28/05/2017 19:41Best place to stay in Puebla. World class service is provided in the executive area by Luisa and Karla. Both of them will tend to your every need and assist you anytime. The food and snacks are made by a very good chef. If you want and enjoyable, pleasant, and quiet stay, this is the place to stay.
Nice outdoor area; friendly staff

Although the hotel is not close to any other restaurants, the 2 restaurants in hotel had good food and good service. I had dinner on the beautiful outdoor patio by the pool and gardens (recommend the salmon). The only con I encountered was the air conditioning had low output, even on high.
Spent 33 days there. Felt like home, or better.

* Perfect breakfast and dinner delivered to room.
* Confortable rooms. {Exception: showers not very handy in some rooms}
* Great quality gym.
Cons:
* Location: close to industrial area, but far from city center, restaurants and other facilities...
* Distances: hotel is pretty spacious. Some facilities of the hotel are far from each others.
P.S.: this is a 5 star hotel . Maybe it has been recently upgraded. (I am seeing 4* in the website today)
Nice outdoor areas; dysfunctional customer service
Jose Gon 11/04/2017 04:20This hotel is comprised by a number of scattered buildings, some newer than others, and a tower. Except for the tower, the buildings do not have elevators.
Pros:
Nice outdoor settings, with clean swimming pools and extensive, well kept gardens
Both restaurants (steak house and local flavors) have good food, are reasonably priced and have good service. The coffee bar is also great (but that's where the good service stops).
Location is convenient for business travelers visiting the industrial area (Volkswagen, San Felipe).
Rooms and bathrooms are big, clean and quiet.
Cons:
Marriott/SPG "elite status" provides access to the executive lounge and lodging in the executive building. The building is inconveniently located far from the lobby/restaurants/business center area - which requires either a 7-minute walk (not bad when you don't have luggage) or wait for a cart service. Breakfast in the executive lounge lacks variety. In general, the lounge is poorly stocked - mostly sodas and coffee. No beer or wine. No non-carbonated options (except for breakfast).
The air conditioner of the whole building was defective; even so, it took 3 days of reporting calls for the reception to acknowledge and provide a different room/building. Which only happened when I complained for the fourth time, at 3 am, when the heat was suffocating.
The hotel is built next to a river-sewage that emanates nasty odors all day and all night; while Puebla's fresh weather would allow to sleep with the windows open, the smell requires to keep them closed and use the A/C.
Final comments:
Other than the hotel's, there are no other restaurants at walking distance. But in all fairness, taxis are very affordable and fine places are only at a 12-15 minute ride away.
I also learned that the hotel has gone through three different owners in the last four years while keeping the Marriott brand. I believe that these frequent changes of management style have affected the quality of the service and the way budget is spent. It surely looks like gardens receive more $ than the A.C maintenance, the executive elite services and the reception employees' customer service training.
Exceptional Service at a very Beautiful Resort

It is consistently a very enjoyable experience to be surrounded by great people who go above and beyond to make md feel at home. Specifically the front desk concierge, Erick, is very accommodating and feels like a good friend who always takes care of me.
I highly recommend this hotel for a great experience here in Mexico!
