Great place to be in Rome

I loved this place. Charming. Very central. Close to Termini. Rooms were comfortable and the bathroom was big.
My only complaint here, if I had to put one was that we couldn’t control the temperature in the room. And the king bed was really just 2 twin beds put together. Other than that, I loved it. Will definitely consider this place on my next trip to Rome
Great location , quiet room, Italian ambience and fantastic stuff.

Noel Mascagni is a walking distance to some of the main attractions in Rome and convenient for shopping either high end or cheaper on Via Nationale. The stuff is efficient and friendly . They will answer any question you have and be helpful. Rooms are nice and clean , decorated old Roman style which adds to the total Roman experience. We stayed there 20 years ago and now again and I must say it is as very good as it was .
Where the Customer is Always Wrong

My daughter and I checked into this hotel for 3 nights. Upon check in, my daughter noted that the young woman at the front desk was not very friendly or welcoming. I had asked for a quiet room away from the noise of the busy streets of Rome. When we were given a room on the first floor, I expressed surprise given that rooms on higher floors are generally quieter. I was assured that the room faced the back of the hotel on a quiet square. The first night, an enormous transport truck arrived in the square at midnight and began a long and complicated process of dismantling a scaffolding from a neighboring building. Between the constant roar of the truck’s Diesel engine, the loud shouting from one worker to another and the clanging of huge pieces of metal, we barely slept. After an hour or so of this, I called the reception to ask what was going on. The man on duty knew all about the loud operation outside, yet the hotel had not given the guests any prior warning. He was incredibly dismissive that we would be annoyed to be disturbed by such goings on in the middle of the night. You can imagine my delight the following morning when the hotel started its breakfast service at 7:00 am just across the hall from our room!! The breakfast room doors are about 10 feet away from our door and are kept wide open to welcome the streams of hungry guests. On our third and final day, we came back to the hotel to rest and pack up to find that the housekeeper had drenched our room in some horrible dimestore perfume spray. Despite a blinding rainstorm, we had to open the windows and the door to air out the room. Hours later, the smell had not dissipated at all leaving us to conclude that the perfume had been sprayed onto the carpet rather than just in the air. When we asked the manager on duty to come up to the room to check it out, he declined to come and, instead, sent up an employee who speaks no English and couldn’t understand us. The manager finally deigned to come up and, when he did, he was once again incredibly dismissive and rude. He never once apologized to us for less than good service. He insisted that this spray was used EACH AND EVERY DAY by the housekeeper despite the fact that my daughter and I told him that that was not the case. My family and I stayed here once before in 2007. I do not recall the staff being so rude as they are today. I also would note that nothing appears to have been updated in the intervening 10 years. The carpets, wallpaper, bed linens and bathroom fixtures are outdated and shabby. The only decent thing was the breakfast and one employee, Daniel, who offered to help us with a dinner reservation on our first night.
Very good

This small boutique hotel is in a great location. Close to many attractions, but far enough away to be a quiet sanctuary at the end of a busy day of touring We walked everywhere from the hotel - Trevi Fountain, Colosseum, Vatican city, Spanish Steps. The train station is also very close by if you are not interested in walking too far. The staff was very friendly and helpful. We received a great map and very clear directions upon check in. There is a cozy little bar in the hotel lobby which was a nice spot to sit and relax at the end of the day. The bartender, Daniele, was very helpful in making great suggestions on things to see and do in Rome as well. The buffet breakfast was a great way to start the day. There is also a great little grocery store right next store to grab wine/beer, snacks and light groceries. Will definitely stay again if we are lucky enough to return to Rome.
