It is truffle season, and the "full up" signs dot Alba everywhere - but I was desperate to go, and at the last minute nabbed two nights here. It's a little out of town, but the manager Cristina had already sorted me out with a bicycle, restaurant tips, directions - and her son kindly transferred me from nearby station. It was like staying with family - simply the best kind of Italian hospitality. Bravissimo Cristina and family!

My husband and I were visiting Alba for its Truffle Festival and Market last weekend. Maybe due to this, the price of hotels in Alba was very high although we started looking quite a while ago. We didn't want to spend a fortune on accommodation, and as we were travelling by car, we didn't mind staying outside of Alba.
The hotel is only 10 mins away by car from the centre of Alba. Our room was spacious, clean and comfortable, and despite the fact that it's located next to the main road, we heard no noise from the street. There's an underground parking which is well-protected, so you feel double safe. The hotel was run by a family, who were super friendly and most helpful. I would definitely recommend the hotel to anyone who travels to Alba.

Staff very friendly. They gave us some hints where to have dinner. Nice hotel easy to find. Cozy room. Bed little bit hard. They offer a simple breakfast which is ok. Its not close to the city. Overall we have a good time.

As per the title. Cost €113 for night in the middle of October, in truffle season.However absolutely no hot water on the top floor ()room 307 and 305) on a sunday at 09.30 am.Staff said they would investigate. Breakfast included in the cafe next door and was fresh and generous.Yes i would stay again as its a very pretty area, room was large and bright with view overlooking fields planted with neat rows of home grown vegtable.Free secure underground car park, and free wifi. Instant coffee in room, but only powder milk, no long life.Complimentary soap and shampoo adequarte, but on the 'cost saving' scale

The Medea exceeded our expectations in every way. Be aware that without a car it is a bit isolated. We did have a car, though, so it was great to have free parking on the premises, and only a 5-minute drive into Alba. It was also easily accessible to the many other places we visited, much more so than if we had stayed in the center of Alba.
The room and public areas are spotless, the decor is traditional with good quality wood furniture, the bathroom is well-equipped and large, the king-size bed very comfortable. The staff could not have been nicer. We do not eat breakfast, so it was nice to have the option not to include it.
