Lovely B & B Time capsule sanctury

My wife and I needed a B & B to use as a base for exploring some of the Jurassic coast, it needs to be conveniently located, sensibly priced, all the services including a parking space.
We researched & contacted a few places that were OK until finding Melcombe Villa and spoke with owner /proprietor Aynsley; Friendly, sincere, Polite, he is welcoming, enthusiastic and knowledgeable about the area.
Melcombe Villa ticks all our boxes. we asked for an en suite room with a bath /shower, this is room 5, upstairs, so might not suit everyone for the usual reasons.
The building is quaint and historic, probably Victorian era...genuine wooden beams in the ceiling. Located 2 minutes walk from the sea front Esplanade Melcombe Villa looks out onto its parking area, buildings opposite & the access road to the front. Some vehicular noise is present at certain times, nearby hotel / early morning (06.15)deliveries & waste collection noise are a consideration but Aynsley is working hard to address these bugbears. Unfortunately for us, scaffolders were erecting rigs at a property adjacent to Melcombe Villa during our stay, so it`s fair to say that, between the two sets of `white noise` we didn`t need to set an early morning alarm any of the days we stayed.

Room 5, Our chosen room is a comfortable size for two, plenty of storage space - bed side table, wardrobe and chest of drawers. Kettle and plenty of coffee, tea and milk portions to hand.
Comfy bed, Standard sized though which might be cramped for some couples.
Shower /bath just right - for average contents of our two wash bags - flat surfaces places to lay usual stuff out. Endless hot water always available and good water pressure.
Wi-Fi is available, signal can vary depending where you are in the room, the access code is found in the welcome /info pack found in the room (with a lovely chocolate each) Aynsley does his meet-and-greet introduction to your room upon your arrival.
Also, a nice sized wall mounted TV and remote add to the facilities available.
He provides guests with sets of keys to access the Villa and your room allowing guests to come and go as they please......Aynsley merely asks guests to consider others and to quietly move around and close all entrance doors...
Breakfast is served in the ground floor breakfast room. Owner /proprietor Aynsley `does as he`s told in here` as the equally welcoming, pleasant and friendly Joy is the boss in this roomy, clean and relaxing environment. Guests have a choice of the popular things to satisfy thirsty & hungry appetites setting you up for whatever you day will bring.
Parking is of course uber important for guests-on-the-move and Melcombe Villa is able to provide off road parking with it`s compact driveway. Aynsley organises parking space to suit guests needs and movements.
One-way road system - recommend researching your route into Melcombe Villa with this in mind, it`s no great shakes to find the place as long as you suss it out beforehand.....

We stayed for two nights, lovely bedrooms (one on ground and one on first floor). Lovely touch with a chocolate on the bed on arrival. Great location in the centre of Weymouth with parking. Really handy for elderly parents. Breakfast was cooked to order and was excellent. Will definitely be back next year. Thanks again for a lovely stay.

Needed to find somewhere to stay in Weymouth whilst working away from home. The reviews & pictures all looked positive so I booked 2 nights. On arrival there was parking available, checking in was quick & easy. The room was nicely arranged, clean & comfortable. Tea & coffee facilities exactly as described. Aynsley the host couldn't be more hospitable & was always asking if anything else was required. The full english breakfast also gets a big thumbs up. This venue is also situated close to most places of interest.I have already booked another room & will probably be booking several more stays for work & possibly a short break for myself.

Excellent stay at Melcombe Villa

We stayed for 3 nights at the Melcombe Villa Guesthouse. We were in room 1 on the ground floor, the room was great, had everything we needed with the en-suite. The owner (Aynsley) was very helpful, phoned my the day before arrival to check our arrival time and gave good suggestions as where to eat while we stayed. Aynsley was on hand over the weekend to help us out with anything we needed.
The breakfast was great, I only had eggs on toast, but the full English did look very good.
The location was great, very close to the sea front in Weymouth, and off street parking included. Very happy with my stay, I would defiantly recommend , and when I return to Weymouth I will be booking my stay here.
The only down side, if any, was for the weekend we were there, we had to book a minimum of 3 nights, when we really only needed 2 nights, but that was made clear at the time of booking, so I cant really complain about this, we just checked out a day early, and as the price was so reasonable it didn't matter too much.
In conclusion, very good B&B, friendly & helpful owners, good breakfast and great location.
