myself and my wife had a fantastic experience at Melia Dubai Hotel. we will definitely visit Melia again in one of our travels. I had a great time and thanks to my wife who made this possible for me as a special birthday present. Thanks to the Chef who made an unplanned birthday cake for me, I am indeed grateful and we will surely visit soonest

This was first time we stayed in Melia in Dubai. Location was not optimal as all our friends live in Dubai Marina district. The surroundings also look pretty industrial, partly unfinished and messy.
Hotel is also a bit worn out and particularly the roof top pool area would need a major make over. In the evening it turns to a party place and the load music will for sure disturb the guests on the 7th and 6th floor as we heard it on the 5th floor.
Our The Level Lounge breakfast wasn't anything special and it was almost everytime empty, so we went down to have the breakfast and to see some people. Other hotel restaurants we didn't use at all as we had our lunch and dinner events elsewhere.
Allthough Uber taxes were functioning very well, the traffic in Dubai is just crazy and you easily have to count 30-40 minutes to get from the hotel to Dubai Marina. During rush hours this can be double.
We have earlier stayed in Hilton JBR, Ritz Carlton JBR and One&Only Mirage and all these hotels are of different level than Melia Dubai.

A very modern and fancy hotel, but very expensive for what you get.
Location is bad, not close to anything, but if you having a car or will use a taxi- more less ok. There are no restaurants or bars nearby, not a lot to see in this area.
Hotel staff is not friendly, ignorant- not what you expecting from 5* hotel. When we arrived, the girl on reception confirmed that we can use a voucher discount (15 euros every day) in any hotel restaurant and bar, as we booked online through hotel’s official website. But when we were checking out, they informed us that we do not have any voucher and they do not know about any vouchers at all, a bit confusing to lie to customer promising discount and when the time comes to pay-saying sorry we do not know what you talking about. What is more, on your arrival hotel taking a deposit from your card, just in case, we did not get actually what is the deposit for.
We had a half board- dinner, it was very poor choice and the service was awful. We expected a 5* star standard, but it was shocking- buffet food is invariably bland and often cold. Food and drink from A la Carte menu was costly and poor, on the dinner they even charging for tee or coffe. No clue how it is a 5* star hotel.
There is a night club on the first floor, the music is very loud and you can hear it at 6th floor till 3am. Not recommended for travellers who need to get a restful sleep.
There poor quality of food and ignorance of staff for a 5*star hotel ruined the whole experience for us and we will not be going back to Melia Dubai and will not be recommending it to our friends. Do not waste your money.

I have been in the hotel several times, the chain is SPANISH and have a good quality of services abroad, however the branch in DUBAI is doing worst everyday.
My previous experiences were not bad, even the furniture and quality of breakfasts was not good though. Then, I was a loyal customer till now.
This time I was so “lucky” that they gave me the room on top of the disco, the walls and bed was moving in the night due to the loud music, they didn’t give me any answer/solution. Then, until 3:00am the disco closed...no sleeping at all. Rooms 225,226 and 227.
In addition of this, the booking was made directly through their reservations team, I requested an early check-in (paid or not) to my colleague, however they didn’t give the room till 13:00 (after 4 hours waiting).
I am sad that they have lost a corporate customer but not only that, they don’t value the loyalty of the clients...
