We recently visited the Melissa Apartments which are situated in Old Town Malia away from "the strip", there is a supermarket just around the corner and some amazing restaurants a short stroll away in the Old Town itself, check out the bakery on the main road near the church, lovely bread, fab coffee and pastries and ice cream to die for. We stayed in one of the apartments for four people which has a lovely new wetroom style bathroom, the bed was huge and very comfortable, there is a safe and air conditioning should it be needed. The apartment is absolutely spotless, visited daily by Eleni the cleaner, not something you expect in apartments, towels are changed every other day and bedding mid week. A special mention too for Christina who does the cooking and serves behind the bar, it was lovely chatting to her (her daughter works in the aforementioned bakery and husband in the fabulous Elizabeth restaurant) George and Ingrid the owners could not be more welcoming, I did send several emails prior to going on holiday and there was always a prompt reply, Ingrid's instructions on catching the bus from the airport and directions how to get to the apartments from the bus stop were spot on and I'd definitely recommend that method of getting to Malia, so cheap and easy. My only, minor complaints would be that its a long walk from the apartments to the sea front, not a walk I'd want to do with children and all the beach equipment, also our apartment was one of the lower ones meaning our patio was below ground level which meant we had no view whatsoever although my husband being a bit taller could just see the top of the hill! That said we arrived at the Melissa as customers and left feeling we had stayed with friends. Thank you so much George, Ingrid and your lovely family, we'll be back!

These apartments are situated in an ideal location,just on the edge of the old town but also just off the top of "The strip",so both are within easy reach as are all of the restaurants/takeaways that both possess. There is a large supermarket literally just around the corner too,bonus.The view from the pool is of the rolling hills,so quiet pleasant. The owners could not be more accommodating and have put a fair bit of work into getting the apartments just right,comfortable beds,spacious rooms that are kept really clean by the fantastic cleaner.
All in all,a great experience.

George and Ingrid are beautiful people, who together with Christina, do everything to make your stay unforgettable! Quite apartments in the middle of the authentic old town of Malia. Perfect for people who want more than the Malia strip!

Lovely place with lovely staff. Made our holiday very special. Very very clean plenty of room by the pool. The owner was really help and Christian was very easy and friendly to talk to. Felt we had known them for a long time. Thank you so much we will be back

We stayed at Melissa Apartments in May and had a great week. Malia Old Town is lovely and completely different in atmosphere to Malia. The apartment was clean, spacious, well equipped with a great shower room. The pool and pool bar are clean with plenty of beds/sunshade and the food is good. Ingrid & George are very welcoming but don't suffer fools, which does mean that 18-30 crowd are kept at bay, so if that's what you want, look elsewhere. Would definitely return.
