Loved staying here!

Visited Lisbon for a short two day holiday, did not intent to explore the whole city. Instead, wanted to relax in a comfortable hotel. This was perfect! I enjoyed the entire experience - check-in, the food, the rooftop bar, the comfort of the room, the excellent breakfast, the cute neighborhood. The staff are outstandingly nice and knew me by name after the first day. They are all very comfortable in English (my language) which made me feel welcome. I highly recommend!
A Wonderful Experience

An architectural masterpiece sitting comfortably in the the old city with sensational views in all directions. Delightfully helpful staff, great location and all the comforts one would hope for. I would suggest paying a little more for a superior room. Breakfast typically European and a great start. Very pleasant and quiet precinct yet right in the thick of things at the same time.
Stylish Stay in Lisboa

I do not hesitate when it comes to any of the hotels in the Design Hotels portfolio. I know it is going to be stylish and innovative - which is exactly what Memmo Alfamma was.
We arrived by car - and I will say this was a bit of a nightmare. It is a narrow alley that leads to the hotel and impossible to manage if there is a car coming in opposite direction. Plus there are other cars double parked so I would recommend finding parking nearby and taking an uber or taxi to the hotel. They do have "valet" but confirm the time - because we arrived after a certain time (7:00pm?) and there was no one there to valet our car.
The room we had was very nice. The bathroom was tiny but it was fine for us. We did have a small balcony that overlooked the river. When it comes to city stays - we always take a basic room because we don't intend to spend much time in the room. Love the electric shutters ;)
The breakfast buffet was delicious. Fresh squeezed juices, yogurts, eggs, pastries, granola, meats and cheeses. It was generous.
The star of the show here was the terrace and pool. The views are incredible day or night. Perfect spot to grab a cocktail and have a few small bites. If we weren't out exploring Lisbon all day, I would have loved to just spend some lazy time on the terrace and watch the day go by with a good book.
The location is ideal for exploring Lisbon, especially Alfama which is my favorite neighborhood.
3rd time in Memmo Alfama

So this is my preferred hotel in Lisbon and this was my 3rd visit and it's just as good as ever.
We had a lovely room which is just the right size, well laid out and has the right amount of storage space - our room overlooked the lane but it wasn't too noisy.
The breakfast is the highlight of my day as when the weather is greta you can sit on the terrace and look over the water which is so lovely. The selection is great and I love the small Pasteis de nata - as they are small you don't feel guilty for having two :-)
The team are always lovely and helpful with requests - and it makes your life really easy.
I will be back again soon - I hope.
Great Stay

I spent a week at this wonderful hotel. If you can I suggest you pay the extra for a superior room. My room was a very good size on a corner with sensational views over Alfama and the river. The bathroom had a great rainforest shower with plenty of water pressure and heat. Watching the sunrise and sunsets as well as the huge cruise lines berthing in front, I could have spent the entire week just staring out the windows from my room, but of course I didn't - lots to explore in this great city.
I liked the welcoming touch of a small bottle of 10 year old port and chocolate cake. And the staff are friendly and helpful and make you feel welcome.
The hotel has a wonderful terrace, which is the wow factor, and also with great views and the availability of light meals and drinks. My room rate included breakfast which can be taken the the breakfast room with its long communal table as well as smaller tables or it can be eaten on the terrace with its views. Breakfast was very good with a selection of cold dishes (and the communal fridge full of bottles of juice, water, milk and yoghurts. Hot dishes, eggs and pancakes, are made to order. The scrambled eggs were outstanding.
But note that the hotel is located in Alfama which has some steep walks to get around along rough cobble stoned roads and pavements. There is good public transport close to the hotel, mainly the famous no.28 tram (which is always very crowded and particularly when cruise ships are in) as well as the no.12 tram (a little less crowded). But the Alfama has loads of character and is an exciting and interesting area to be based.
As you can tell I loved this hotel and would not hesitate to stay here again. Although for a change I might try there other hotel in Lisbon so as to explore a different part of Lisbon.
