I usually stay in NH hotels but as there isn't one in Lugo, I chose Mendez Nunez. The price was very competitive so I didn't expect much. However the room and bathroom were really clean and spacious, the bed very comfortable and the location excellent. Certainly on a par with any NH Collection Hotel I have stayed in.
If you come by car, make sure you have good directions as it's a tricky place to find.

The hotel is very central and within the old walled town. We had a view facing out onto a fairly narrow street and it can get a bit lively on a Saturday night. The snag for those arriving by car is that it is on a traffic free street and unfortunately there appeared to be no street sign adjacent to the square in which you can drive. The hotel has a very good arrangement with a local car park in the Rua Anxel Fole for 6Euros per day and that is a walk of about 200m. The staff were helpful and the breakfast good. Overall this is a good hotel in a very convenient location.

The hotel is very central, which is good for access to sites bars and restaurants. However, we stayed in a room at the front of the hotel and it was extremely noisy.nightlife goes on til midnight, the church opposite chimes every half hour
and the bin men come around at 1 am then deliveries start at 3 am...and to cap it all the sound insulation from room room in insufficient. The hotel is very nicely appointed however and the staff are helpful..better breakfast available elsewhere.

Lovely hotel, smack city center. The rooms are comfortable, nice space, no cramming. Clean! Very low street noise level, comfortable bed. They do offer a breakfast buffet. Unfortunately in my opinion the buffet consists of more sweets than nutritional quality breakfast food. When travelling and enjoying breakfast at a hotel it is nice to find foods that will start your day off right. The buffet is also too expensive for its quality. Hotel has a lovely outdoor terrace on the top floor for cocktails.

This is a quite large hotel within the walls of Lugo with long twisted hallways and little charm. The furnishings are similar to what one would find in a Motel 6. On the plus side, It is a good location and clean. And thankfully there is good A/C, which was very welcome. They also have a public computer with a printer which was helpful. We passed through Lugo on our way to Sarria, and the hotel let us store the suitcases, free of charge, which we would not be needing on the Camino. We were reunited with our bags when we returned to Lugo after our Camino for Arde Lucas.
