4 star hotel with paper cups
jeandT3504OKon 05/11/2017 14:32Modern and well-appointed room with little wardrobe space and no drawers so could not stay here for more than a few days. Only one welcome drink for 2 people here as a club accor silver member? Good restaurant with excellent breakfast let down by paper cups and wooden sticks as spoons in the room... and this in a 4 star hotel. The sticks do not make it easy to lift a teabag out of a cup.
Great location and very comfortable
Jackie Don 10/09/2017 09:18Ideally located in the centre of the old town, with its own underground car park. We stayed just one night on our way to Spain.
We had a suite which had a small sitting room, very comfortable bedroom and a large jacuzzi bath in the bathroom. We had windows on either side of the room - one side overlooked the very pretty courtyard garden and the other the market hall square at the front of the hotel.
Reception staff were great and spoke good English. We didn't eat in the hotel as there are many restaurants and cafes very close by.
We would stay here again.
Loved this hotel, fab position
Hhoundon 15/08/2017 11:35Very clean hotel, large with a very luxurious feel. Our rooms had the best view across the gardens and across the river. Loved the glass in the bathroom :) Breakfast was good value for money and again, everything was immaculate. The hotel is within walking distance of loads of great bars and restaurants, a brilliant location. Would definitely stay there again. :)
I would give it 6 Stars if it had Twin Beds in some of its rooms
Belle16on 11/07/2017 17:55We love this hotel.It is lovely and clean and in the most wonderful position across from the market and a s short walk to bars and restaurants and shops. The decor is really good and it is totally lovely. The breakfast is great and the staff nice.
We have used Mercure hotels for many years. but we stopped using lots of them because they mad a decision not to have twin bedded rooms. We would stay more often i this hotel and for more nights if it has twin beds so we could sleep well. Their beds are comfortable but we need twins and so do many people.
Lovely hotel in all ways. Love it .Recommend it.
Very enjoyable stay - good location
RussL_Auson 09/07/2017 08:44We began our month-long tour of France at Angouleme. We were only staying over-night on our way to the Dordogne region. Catching the TGV direct (with no changes) from CDG airport was a big plus for us - and possibly for other looking to go straight from the airport to the Bordeaux region, or south-west France.
This hotel is located near the top of the hill - if you arrive by train we recommend catching a cab up the hill as it is a reasonable climb with baggage. The hotel is also located near the town square which provides numerous options for meals in addition to eating in. If you prefer a simpler breakfast than that offered by the hotel, there is a small cafe in the laneway next door.
The hotel was clean and we had a very comfortable one-night stay in a good-sized room. The staff were delightful. Reasonable value. I would stay here again if in the area.
