The staff here was absolutely great! I also received a free suite upgrade due to being an IHG member. The view of the Ocean is fantastic. However it is about a bit of a trip if you want to get to the “heart” of Cairns to do anything and you’d likely need a taxi. And I found it quite annoying that the bed didn’t have a nearby outlet for my phone to charge and had to set it across the room... but everything else here was fantastic. The pool is gorgeous and clean as well.

Stayed here last year for a week with my brother and we both found the location to be great for us as we both enjoy walking. It is about 15 minutes out of town but a very flat and beautiful walk along the esplanade to restaurants and attractions. The accommodation was good, modern and tidy and we had a nice water view from our balcony. The daily breakfast was awesome! Staff really nice and friendly.

We arrived and found they upgraded us to a water view! Our room was comfortable. The front desk help was very Helpful and helped us figure out what tours we wanted to do. (Margo was her name) One night our air conditioner was not working correctly, we told them the next morning and it was fixed before we returned from our tour and they gave us a free breakfast for our troubles. There is laundry facilities in the basement, but no place to sit there- we set a timer and hung out in the lounge area by the bar while our clothes washed and dried. The breakfast is nice - but a little expensive. The food is well prepared, but very fancy.. Nice for one or maybe two nights - but we started exploring other places to eat. The pool is not private- everyone who is eating in the outside dining area can see you. (Thus I didnt go swimming) But it is a beautiful pool and has a hot tub area also. Across the street is the Esplanade - which is amazing. You can walk along it all the way to town. It is a gorgeous walk. But if you don’t feel like walking, the hotel has a shuttle to town every hour starting at 10:00am and they will pick you up and bring you back from town around 5-10 minutes after the hour.

Fantastic view overlooking the sea,the room was modern and upgraded the bathroom was good with instant very hot water towels replaced every day dressing gowns were lovely and warm they were great sitting out side of a night .the breakfast was spot on and everything was freshly cooked with a great selection.I celebrated my birthday at the restaurant food was excellent which included a bottle of wine thanks xhbkkkkkkkkk

Although most HI hotels in Australia are dated, this one is well maintained, you can open windows and doors to enjoy fresh air. The breakfast is sumptious, the staff are cheerful and make you feel welcome, special mention Emma. They also provide shuttle to city centre which avoids driving in the city.
