What People are saying

Hotel was good but food not

Jemma C on 13/11/2017 10:54

The hotel was nice and amenities were good but was disappointed by the food. The breakfast we had was cold. And the dinner I had which was the tikka masala was oiley and the rice was sticky. My partners burger was dry even with added sauce. Luckily with Watford town centre not being to far we were able to take a 10 minute uber taxi to restaurants or use the McDonalds which was next to the hotel. Overall the stay was good but food needs to be improved.

A lovely hotel to stay in

Gunslinger_46 on 08/11/2017 23:32

We arrived on Saturday 21 Octoiber for ashort stay visit - the staff were very helpful, what made things easier - we booked the hotel online and the quicker you choose, the better it is in the long term..

Always check when booking what is available, we had two double rooms which were very spacious, clean and tidy.

The upgrade to priviilege was well worth it for the extra tenty pounds per room, we nad a nespresso coffee maker and a perculater - whichever you wanted to use, an open style wardrobe, which made much better to hang your clothes up and all the facilities you need in the room.

They also have a spa and leisure club with days and times of opening.

On Sunday we had a full English breakfast, with everything laid out in trays and you picked what you wanted to eat - you could also have a cold breakfst if you also.

You have a choice of hot or cold drinks to choose from and the dining room is nisely laid out in the eating area.

I would highly recommend this hotel, for short or long term stays - If you are in the area, make this your number one stop.

More two star than 4 - acceptable for short stay

Mummy33 on 06/11/2017 18:36

We stayed for one night at the weekend. It has a lot of pros but let down by noise and upkeep. I wouldn't want to stay here at the weekend again.

Pro's - the rooms are a decent size, there is parking, the swimming pool, sauna / steam room area is nice and the breakfast was nice.

The rooms and reception on first glance are ok, but then you start to notice the wallpaper peeling away in places and things like bath and sink plugs missing. Minor things that should be kept on top of. Didn't overly bother me but not what you expect from a four star.

The main thing for me was the noise. All the central doors slam shut and you constantly hear them banging. As it was a Saturday I was kept awake until gone 4 by all the noise and then woken a few hours later - Sunday morning by noise including the maid hoovering at 8am. I honestly had a rubbish sleep that could have been made better by soft closing doors for start. There was also loud music being played by one of the rooms until the early hours. The staff did eventually put a stop to it and I do accept that that's just bad luck not a reflection on the hotel.

Overnight stay

The room was not as good as on previous stays to the hotel. The double bed was two singles pushed together which resulted in a dip in the centre. Despite being held together by the sheet it was not particularly comfortable. The bathroom was in need of some repair and redecoration. On a positive note the staff were welcoming and friendly as we have always found on previous stays. Our request for nearby rooms was accommodated and the other room was of a good standard.

An Adequate Hotel

STW529587 on 03/11/2017 19:46

If you are driving, this hotel is in a good location with easy access tot he M25 along the A41 Bypass. If you're using public transport it's not good - it's a taxi journey away from all of the local train and Underground Stations. Once at the hotel, the staff are professional and friendly. In contrast, the rooms are tired and a little shabby. The bar is OK - but expensive. Breakfast is fine. Bottom line - the rooms are cheap - and it is obvious why. The staff are trying hard, but the hotel needs a full refurb. If you just want a pit stop, it's functional and adequate. But it's certainly not a treat.
