Tired Hotel in need of refurbishment

Good Location but tired decor and fitting, cleanliness poor. The door laminates were peeling off and the tiles in the bathroom and toilet were dirty. The carpet at the entrance was badly worn overall the decor was poor. The good thing about this location was the central position and car park. A detail direction map to find the hotel through the one way circuit would have prevented much frustration

Lovely hotel in a terrific location

I had a group of 42 people including myself stay at this property on the 29 May. The hotel is located very near the town square. The streets by the hotel are very small, cobblestone streets. This means the motorcoach could not pull right up infront of the hotel so people had to walk 1 block with their suitcases. However the charm of the hotel and its location made up for the walk. The rooms were spacious and clean. The breakfast buffet had a great selection and the food was decent. Thank you very much Mecure Rouen Centre Cathedrale!!! I will highly recommend your property to all my clients.

Great city location

Great place to stay to see the city sights. Once you park in their garage you can leave the car! The cathedral ( think Monets paintings of the facade) was a few steps away which made it convenient to watch the Sound and Light show at 11:00(!!) It was June so the sun didn't set til 10 or so. The show starts earlier in Sept. It had just started for the season the weekend we were there ( June 3). A 10 minute walk to the large Sunday market one way and a 10 minute walk the other way to lots of outside dining near Joan of Arc's church - a lovely contemporary building with beautiful stained glass windows. Also visited the Beaux Arts museum which had a nice collection of Impressionist paintings ( one of Monet's cathedral facades) Didn't realize it but all stores were closed on Sunday which actually made it easier to drive into town. A good value! Kaydita ( sp?) was especially helpful at check in ...grace under fire with so many people checking in and out...told us about the market, helped us store our luggage til we could check in and then when we returned and still couldn't check in she got us some cafe from their restaurant! Very sweet!

Excellent five night stay

Very comfortable room and a great shower. The location is perfect near the cathedral and walked everywhere. Front desk people helpful and friendly. There is no help with luggage but there are carts and an elevator. Room cleaned early everyday. Bedding good quality but towels just okay. The best was the buffet breakfast. Everything was perfect, the croissants, baguettes, wonderful Normandy butter, fresh yogurt and fruits, cheese selection. Hot foods included perfect crepes or pancakes as well as eggs. There was a Nespresso machine plus a machine for espresso that was so fresh it even ground the beans! Definitely took care to have everything of the finest quality.

We stayed at this centrally located hotel for five days. It's a four star hotel with no help carrying luggage. I've never heard of this. There was an Oder on the hall and room when we first arrived. I couldn't identify the oder until the third day it was the sewer! You couldn't even breath in the room. The front desk changed our room after a quick inspection. There was no effort to compensate us for this disaster, we where offered a drink and since I don't drink it was almost insulting. 4 days later I'm still suffering from the effects. Now on the other side breakfast was perfect and plentiful but that's my highlight.
