The whole experience was great. The food and the natural juices are delicious. Service is great. We enjoyed the solitude and tranquility of this place, although we were very active going on excursion around the area, a must do, we enjoyed coming back after a long day to an amazing dinner and a relaxing rest of evening. They packed our to go lunches when we went on excursion, just let them know in advance. The bathrooms are really cool and the birds wake you up at dawn with their singing, but I will fallback to sleep again and hey when am I going to be awaken by birds on 18th Floor where I live. We could hear the waves from our room. Everything was an amazing experience.

It was a very relaxing experience, the food is very good, and I felt like living in the jungle but with all the amenities of a good hotel, I love the nature, the good food and the sea so for this reasons I recommend this hotel!

Stunning hotel with an incredible private beach and less than 30 minutes away from Tayrona Park. The rooms have a clean decoration, the bed is very comfortable and the open-air shower is great. The food is amazing as well as the cocktails! It’s the perfect place to take a peaceful break and relax.

The Merecumbe is a lovely eco resort near Santa Marta. It offers no airconditioning but due to the open construction of the rooms and a fan that really is no problem at all. The bathrooms are open to the outside which we loved, but you do need to realize that it can get a bit buggy, so perhaps not for everyone. The rooms are very tastefully done up and spread out over a wonderfully landscaped garden, lots of privacy! The problem for us was the lack of beach - I did not realize that we could not go swimming there and had planned this to be a few relaxing days at the beach at the end of our trip. I should probably have read up on that more beforehand, but the hotels website gives no clue about that. They do say that you can swim there but really, the water is brown and too rough to swim in it. I have not seen anyone in the water while we were there. What you can do is go on excursions, there are quite a few available. So if you plan to be active, the resort is great. Food is wonderful and the staff is very friendly and attentive!

Great place, great food, great service !! We stayed for 3 days and everything was just perfect. The bungalows are great and the meals everyday change, all of them were great. We truly recommend Merecumbe for couples !!
