This is an excellent property. Could have been a four star however the maintenance and upkeep was not satisfactory. Service was poor. I was surprised to be told that my booking.com reservation did not include breakfast. The quality of breakfast was very poor. The vada was a tight mass of fried dough.

Everything they say is true....absolutely the most economical & spacious hotel we've ever stayed at, in Kochi. We were here for 3 days. My family of 5 (2 adults, 1 kid, parents) stayed in Mermaid, which is overlooking Kaniyambusha river (name as told by one of the staff). Serene atmosphere inside the city hullabullah !!! Even though deluxe rooms were available, we preferred an apartment with 3 air-conditioned bedrooms, a living room, a kitchen, attached washrooms. We got the MAP package (with breakfast & dinner included) and found it to be perfect for us -- big breakfast (buffet), skip lunch, then a nice dinner. The service was amazing - every detail was anticipated and efficiently handled. Well connected with buses in Vytila hub within strides, Uber service, autos, and of course, enjoyed the Water Bus service (unique to Kochi) that runs by the side of the hotel …..
Wish I could have stayed longer in Mermaid, our own private bit of heaven!

I went second time .
First time was too nice so recommended friends too. But this time when I Went to have a drink at a bar ..
I Was told that in snack options .
except beef there is nothing ..
Property and ambience is super kool.
But I enquired and wanted to speak to any manager . They denied to do so.
So that's lack of care .
I myself is a hotelier and always love to try new places.
Hope they will do something about this.

9:20 reached we reached the bar no one attended us then we go to the bar counter and order for beers and us for some starters but the Bartender Mr Titez Said that after 9:30 kitchen is closed .no chefs are there anymore so we won't get any snacks or any food item .later We go to reception and ask for F&B manager.One person comes and meet us but he doesn't anything except one simple sorry . He can not provide any manager number .. it really upsets us . We r quite regular to mermaid . But they spoiled my colleagues bday party.. thanks for this bad day ..and this is the first ever negative review I gave being in same field
