Enjoyable stay

Arrived Monday 4th October at 2.20 am very late, to be met by the male receptionist who was really polite and helpful and helped carry our luggage to our room, the only problem was he did'nt speak any English. We found our room spacious, clean and a large balcony, with two chairs and a table but a sun lounger would have been nice. The staff were always smiling and cheerful nothing was too much trouble especially the English speaking young ladies.we used this hotel as a base to go to Gibralta and other places by car and we found it to be a great location. The view is great, lovely sea and beach. The restaurant was a no go for us due to the lateness of the evening meal and we there was no English translation to help us choose anyway. Would we stay again 100% yes. We think " tea making facilities" would be a bonus too.
Convenient hotel close to Harbour

This was a last minute booking as the group I was in, headed to Morocco, but ferries were not running due to bad weather.
Hotel is very conveniently located next to the harbor.
View from the room are nice and rooms and service are average ( I would say ... in line with the room price )
Useful position

It is an easy accomodation to reach Gibraltar where it could be quite expensive.
Our room was simple but the bathroom was nice.
You can have a cheap breakfast and dinner.
At the time of our journey, not a lot of guests there.
The staff is friendly and available.
You can Park inside the building with a quite cheap offer.
I think that the hotel is a common place to spend some days but the landscape is the harbour so it is not the typical seaside that you could looking for during your spanish holidays.
......it all depends which room you get.........

Very good value if you get the right room - not worth a penny if you don't.
It's right next to the motorway and main access road to the port so a continuous stream of trucks at all hours. Adjacent houses seem to have been provided with acoustic screens but not the hotel.
We asked for a room with a sea view but were put in room 201, at the front facing the road with two windows and air conditioning (the kind in the ceiling over the corridor beside the bathroom) that didn't seem to work. Windows open too noisy; windows closed too hot. Didn't get any sleep. (Though these rooms at the front do seem to have baths and bidets.)
Next morning we put our luggage in the car before they relented and promised a room at the back for the next two nights. We got 216, near the lift but no noticeable noise. These rooms seem to just have showers but no bidet and more modern wall-mounted aircon units. Good view of the beach and the Rock (and the port and the oil refinery.....) Dull throbbing noise from the port but didn't stop us sleeping.
I think 201-211 are at the front, 212-223 are at the back, with large terraces.
The hotel is on a hill so there are also "first floor" rooms at the back of the ground floor, but the view probably isn't so good. There's also a sign for room 301 - there must be a secret penthouse suite though most of the top floor is the laundry and the lift doesn't go there.
Yes, it is a little difficult to find. Follow the yellow signs even though you seem to be going round in a circle and down a slip road back onto the motorway: you peel off to the right to get to the hotel.
Over the three days there was just one occasion when I couldn't immediately find a parking place at the front and had to park down the hill at the side.
Rooms are clean and nicely decorated. No kettles or minibars though.
Staff (apart from one grumpy late-night man) are friendly and helpful.
Breakfast - get a ticket from reception - is just juice, coffee and toast or croissant. But you can get extras such as scrambled eggs for €3.50.
Dinner (probably available at lunchtime too) is exceptional value - €10 for three courses including a glass of wine. And more imaginative than the omelettes or fried fish that most cheap places seem to offer.
We didn't use the adjacent beach - I think to get to it you have to walk down the road past the roundabout and then turn right.
No idea what attractions Algeciras might have but it's a good base for touring. We spent the first evening at the last night of the Feria in La Linea, next day doing the cultural trip to Tangier from Tarifa, second day in Gibraltar, last morning at the beach in Getares, just south of the town, and managed to get back to Seville airport in only an hour and a half.
If you manage to get a good room it's excellent value compared with any of the other hotels in the vicinity.
Ok hotel for a day or 2 max, and if you have a car

We stayed on a Saturday night, we were on our way from Cadiz and we wanted to visit Gibraltar before going to Ronda. We were travelling by bus/train and the last train to Ronda is departing at 3:30PM from Algeciras.
Pros:
+ the hotel receptionist is really really kind and eager to help, 10/10 for the service.
+ the room is big
+ the view on Gibraltar is great (the balcony is huge)
+ taxi from Algeciras bus/train station will be less than 8 euros
+ close to bus M120 Algeciras - La Linea (Rinconcillo stop) to go to Gibraltar and come back (2,45 euros each way)
Cons:
- the hotel location is next to the highway, there's not much to do around
- the neighbourhood is not that pleasant
- the beach is next to a lot of industrial stuff
- still a 15 minutes walk to bus stop M120 (it's not close)
- the balcony was huge but the drain was smelling like sewage and the table/chairs were not clean enough to sit)
- the wifi was great
Overall, it's an ok place for a day or 2 if you need to be in Algeciras. I wouldn't recommend it for Gibraltar because the bus stop was still far away. We're both fit and used to walking but it took us a good 15 minutes to get to the bus stop. The highlight of our stay was really the warmth of the receptionist.
