As most of reviewers stayed one night prior to cruise. Basic hotel with basically furnished but spacious room, with balcony and separate seating area. Balcony was overlooking the sea. Mini fridge provided. Breakfast was not served, but there is a cafe near by where one can get coffee and danish in the morning. The "very good" rating is because of staff we interfaced with and the arranged shuttle right to cruise ship @ Euro 10 per person. Luggage was loaded and unloaded- can not beat that convenience.

We stayed here one night before our cruise and were pleasantly surprised, Our room on the second floor was actually two rooms, a bedroom and a room with table and chairs and mini-fridge. It had a small balcony facing the ocean and wonderful tall windows with shutters that opened onto the sea. There were several nice restaurants along the promenade where we enjoyed lunch and dinner. We didn't have breakfast in the hotel the next morning but rather walked along the promenade and enjoyed cappuccino and a fresh croissant in the morning sunshine. There was an elevator but it was up a few stairs from the hotel lobby. The front desk kindly arranged for a van to take us and our luggage to the pier, which was just a short drive away. There was a window shelf in the stairwell that had a lot of cobwebs and needed cleaning out but everything else was clean. Because our room was on the corner and we left the window opened there was some late night and early morning noise from the restaurant below but the rest of the time it was very quiet.

We were here for one night only, before our cruise. We had a room on an upper floor with a balcony and overlooking the ocean. We were impressed with the size of the room which included a small dining table. The room was clean and the bed was comfortable. We could easily have spent a few days here (although there isn't much to see in town). The hotel was a very easy walk from the train and to the port.

My husband and I stayed three nights in Civitavecchia prior to our Transatlantic cruise to our home city, San Juan. We stayed at the Miramare Hotel. We loved it! It is right in front of the sea and our room had a small balcony overlooking the beautifull passeggiata, with little cafes and restaurants along the street. We had been at Civitavecchia before but this was the first time we fully got to know it and enjoy it.
It has a great market and beautiful streets. The hotel is very comfortable, and offers good breakfast. The staff, especially Luigi, ware very helpful. One thing about Civitavecchia, though. The train station is totally unprepared for a port city. It has no
lifts- and there are several stairs. This is very inconvenient and is important to know.
Many travellers are not aware of this. The Miramare is located in front of the station, very near the port. The hotel will arrange for a shuttle that will take you right in front of the Ship. Great service.

Took train from Rome to catch Ship leaving for Athens. Stayed overnight to Hotel Miramare close walk from Train Station Stop. Hotel is below Train Stop on waterfront, small rooms but comfortable. Good Pizza Place next door. Room had poor lighting so bring a lamp or at least some 100W 220V bulbs. Shuttle stopped by in the morning and took us to Ship. Very convenient. However Hotel Traghetto looked fine and was closer to Cruise Terminal. Both Hotels I think are owned by the same owner. Both would work out fine for cruise stopovers.
