Worst Customer Care Service
Tashina89 on 15/10/2017 07:24
They have the worst customer care service.
They had a faulty lock and our key got jammed! They not only charged us for the room we didn't stay in (because we were locked out and they couldn't get the room opened that night), but also for the lock we didn't damage (we called the front desk as soon as the key got jammed, and their own staff used a hammer, pliers, etc.) and for the spare beds we had to use to sleep on the floor of our relative's room.
When asked why we had to pay for the room, or the lock, all we got was yelled at! That's not a way to win an argument Mr. Manager! Just insisting that everything was our fault doesn't make it our fault. Please learn to speak to your customers if you value their patronage. Consider the entire situation before simply barking at them.
Good Budget Stay.. Above Average !!

Me and my family (wife and parents) checked into this Hotel without a prior booking. We arrived at around 11:30am on 1st Oct 2017 to find all the rooms booked with only the Suite available.
* The Suite was spacious with one large bedroom and a bathroom
* The Suite has 2 King Size beds that can easily accommodate 4
* The bed and pillows are soft, quilt provided, had a good night sleep
* Central AC, minimal sound and doesn't affect the sleep
* Hot water from 5am to 10am
* LCD TV with around 30 channels subscribed (mostly Tamil)
* Soap, Shampoo and Towels provided
* Tea bags, coffee and milk powder, electric kettle available
* 2 Mineral Water bottles provided
* Newspaper at the door in the morning
* Saravana Bhavan is at the ground floor of the same building and hence breakfast and meals isn't a problem (be prepared to wait though as it is always crowded). Adyar Anand Bhavan (A2B) is situated in the adjacent building
* Well situated at the center of Kanchi. Walk-able distance to temples (Kanchi Kamakshi temple is 0.5kms away, Kachabeswarar Temple and Ulagalanda Perumal Temple are around 300 mts, Ekambaranathar Temple is around 1.5 kms away). Take a rickshaw which costs 20-30 bucks if you are not prepared to walk
* If silk saree shopping is in your agenda, the famous shops AG Babu Sah, AS Babu Sah, Pachaiyappa Silks and Prakash Silks are within a radius of 2.5 kms
The Suite looked good for the price, could be maintained better (the ceiling paint was peeling off in the Bathroom, the Shower curtain missing making the floor messy).
We faced absolutely no issues during the stay and our stay was limited to one night as our day was spent outdoors.
Preferably, pre-book as unavailable rooms may cause an issue as there are very few decent hotels in the Temple Town.
A good budget hotel for the facilities provided !! Would like to rate good (above average)
Medium sized Hotel

MM is a medium sized travellers hotel, situated on the Main Road in Kanchipuram. It's a small hotel with an excellent location.most of the shopping spots are very close by. It's not very close to the Meenakshi Temple but autorickshaws are easily available. No auto works on a meter. Prior fixing of fare is advised.
The famous Saravana restaurant is attached to the hotel itself so one does not have to go very far for food.
The rooms are small but have all the amenities. The service is polite and friendly.
Prior reservation is advised.
Average hotel

This hotel is in the middle of the town .
Proximity - it is hardly 2 minutes walk from the main bus station and 10 minutes from the railway station
Almost proximate to all temples and landmark place , known to all resources of transport .
Stay - stay is average and bed upholstery are too old but clean .
Room service - we have a phone but no room service and no food /even coffee served at room . So someone expecting bed coffee it is 👎🏿.
Toilets - no toilet 🚽 accessories etc . But toilet is clean and neat . Will get hot water in the morning time only not always . If you need hot water all round you will be served a bucket of hot water for which you should ask them .
Entertainment- there is a small tv and you get all channels through local cable network . Not digital . But if you scroll can get all language channels . But for room of this size TV is too small .
There is a coffee maker but not worth using not clean .
There is a very good high quality pure vegetarian restaurant ' saravana bhavan ' in the hotel building ground floor . This is an absolute saviour for foodies . You get all varieties of quality vegetarian Indian food . Must visit during your hotel stay and this is the only reason the hotel can be opted for accommodation
Quality of AC is good but blower creates sound .
If you don't mind too much comfort / ambience and your objective is shopping / temple visit recommended for stay
The discovery of the bucket experience.

Located on one of the main streets of the town this hotel is rather noisy. The corridors are alive almost 24 hours a day, so that deep sleep depends very much on how tired you are.
Said this, it must be recognized that the staff is extremely friendly and helpful, the rooms are tidy and cleaned every day, the furniture is solid and well organized and the services provided by the structure are absolutely satisfactory.
The bathroom had a shower, but for some reason it wasn't working, so I had to recur to the local habit of washing with the bucket. After the first seconds of awkwardness, I admit I started enjoying the thing and stopped considering a discomfort.
Just beware of this: hot water runs only from 5 am to 10 am. If you need hot water out of this time span, the reception will provide it to you on request (someone will bring you a bucket of heated water to your room).
