Well worth the 45 minute drive from Vilamoura and the 130 euros, which includes a buggy (compulsory), unlimited practice balls on an excellent range, a gift box, bag name tag/ memento and club clean. The course was perfect and a true test but no impossible; the welcome was friendly, inviting and informative, the club house and changing rooms were luxurious but not pretentious and the whole experience was so good that we will definitely be back next year if not sooner.

We stayed a week in a villa at Monte Rei in May 2017 and played the golfcourse 5 times. We had a fantastic week in a wonderfull large villa and the golf course is absolutely very beautifull and quiet, integrated in the Nature. It was as if we were the only one at the course, no stress and plenty of time to enjoy the extremely Well prepared course in excellent condition and the stunnning surroundings and sceneries.
The service at Monte Rei, Booth the hotel and the golf, is very High - unformal, friendly and personal. You feel very welcome and at home and the level of service is very High, but not "stiff". Very good and Rich breakfast with fresh fruits, juice and something for any taste. Our only suggest to improvement is if you at a halfboard guest, the variation of menu (choises) is too small and the food is not regional, but international, but all in good quality.

This was my fourth time staying at Monte Rei, we really enjoy the location, standard of the accomodation and service.This time however there was a mix up when I brought the wrong passport to the airport when departing earlier than the rest of the party. I wish to extend my sincere thanks to the staff at Monte Rei who when I phoned to explain not only got my passport from the villa but brought it to the airport in time for me to catch my flight. This service was exceptional and very much appreciated. Thank you.

We booked a golf round and lunch for 8 of us while on a trip to Portugal. From arrival to departure we were treated like nothing else. They parked the car, took the clubs everywhere, had our names on the lockers and buggies, two free gifts and even gave us a private room for lunch for 8 of us. We couldnt believe it.
Course is amazing some of best holes ive ever played.
Not cheap it was £185 for round and lunch but worth every single penny.

When we first booked this particular resort, I was concerned that it was too expensive as we could have looked elsewhere in Portugal and got cheaper. However once at the resort is was clear that the cost was well justified as the staff in all areas could not do enough for you. Always cheerful, pleasant and professional. They made the whole trip about you.
We stayed in one of the 3 bed villas and it was spacious, beautifully decorated and maintained every day by an invisible but attentive staff. The only point I would comment on is if I could afford one of them, at that price to buy, a dipping pool would not go a miss.
The restaurants were all well staffed and the food ample and well presented. Transport was always on hand to convey you to and from the resort centre to your accommodation.
The golf course was in lovely condition and a challenge. Despite playing everyday, It always presented a different challenge depending on weather etc.
Things for the resort to consider maybe a small convenience shop and a cash point machine. Not essential but would have been convenient.
Other than that I would most definitely return and if I ever win the lottery, I know where my home in the sun will be.
