This is probably a going to be a strange review, but I thought I would look this place up, since I stayed here 15 years ago. My son was stationed in Abq. and still is. I love that city. I stayed here twice - a few years apart, and coincidentally got the same room both times. LOL. What I don't understand is WHY do they remodel these rooms into these stark, dorm-like structures, with no pictures on the wall, etc.? I don't get it. So cold and stark. I almost miss those flowery curtains and bedspreads that used to be in rooms. Lots of hotels are going to this kind of decor and I just don't get it. It was okay then, but in a sketchy area. Actually, though very conveniently located with a plaza across the street.

We stayed at the Motel 6 located at 13141 Central Ave NE in Albuquerque, NM on Friday night July 7, 2017.
This is a no-frills lodging which fit our needs very well...
There is easy access from I-40 to the property. It was within walking distance to a movie house, 2 grocers we noticed (including a Sprouts -so organic produce was available - nice), and numerous fast-food outlets for those who choose to eat that stuff.
It is an older motel; well maintained, friendly personnel, and budget-friendly. The hosts were very nice people. I'm sorry I forgot to write down their names.
It was a small, bare-basics room; very clean, good shower, comfortable bed.
A nice extra was that wi-fi was included in the room rate.

Room quirks:
The bathroom fan was pretty noisy. It was on the same switch as the light so you couldn't just turn it off.
The bed was noisy too. Get your mind out of the gutter - lol {;o) Just sitting on the edge of it or laying down & turning over caused creaky sounds.
Neither of these noise comments / issues was loud enough to create any problem sleeping.
The shower shelf was very small. It was also tilted slightly which I realize is good for cleaning, as water doesn't pool... But a bar of soap won't stay put either which can be aggravating. Get yourself a small piece of no-skid rubber 'cloth' to pack in your bathroom kit to solve the problem.

Parking is across from the room door, making loading & unloading your vehicle easy. The parking lot is well-lit at night.
As a bonus, it was located close to the Singing Road which was on our itinerary for the next day.
We would certainly stay here again if we were in the area.
We love to travel but hate to spend lots of money just to lay our heads down for a few hours. Motel 6 has served us well this time.

The motel room was newly renovated and clean, front desk staff was very friendly and accommodating. No roaches or bugs as stated in other reviews. The neighborhood may not be the best but the motel itself was fine. A little noisy outside. Internet worked fine.

I stayed one night on February 2017 as a solo traveler. My conclusion is, I do not recommend this hotel at all.
Right after I opened the door at first, immediately I smelled a professional disinfectant spray. Behind the bathroom door, there were graffiti like you see them at the public bathroom. The mildew and mold were all the corner of the shower room. Outside of the microwave and the fridge were not cleaned (I do not know the inside, because I was afraid of opening them. I did not want see anything dirty) . I was not happy at this room already, but I decided myself to put up with, because only for one night. it was late at night, and I was tired.
After the shower, I opened the blanket to sleep, and found... A live roaches!!!! I called the front desk to let them know about the live roaches on the bed. The staff exchanged the room for me. And when I went to the new room, it smells terribe cigarette, even it was a sign for the non smoking room on the door. I called the front desk again, and the lady yelled at me to say, "come to the office for the refund. If you do not like that room, go to the other hotel!!" I told her there is no reason that I was yelled at. I say, thank you very much for such a nice hospitality.
About 10min after the second call, the front desk person came to to the room to give me for the different room. The new room seemed to be OK, but there is no fridge /microwave/TV remote controller. This room is definitely lower price than the one I reserved. But I did not want to say anything any more. Just wait for the next day to leave this place as much as earlier as i can.
By the way, the bed linen had a lot of small holes in all three rooms. Some of them were cigarettes, and some of them are I am sure by the pest..

The staff at the front desk was very friendly and helpful. The rooms are pretty worn down and old... Could def use an update. The beds were so old and dirty and the floors were quite filthy. The smell was not so great either and there were some sketchy characters hanging around.
