grammabeth2015on 19/11/2017 03:29This motel is in sad shape. The carpeting is cut and stained, the baseboard heater is rusty, the outlet plates are yellowed and cracked. No coffeemaker, no Kleenex or shampoo, no refrigerator or microwave. Housekeeping did not even come to my room. On the 2nd night, my room key had been deactivated. The front desk fixed it, but no explanation or apology. For $158 for 2 nights I feel like I was ripped off. Won't be back.
My modern trip to Appleton, WI
spoerjm1on 23/10/2017 01:21Enroute to Appleton WI, we reserved a room at Motel 6 via booking.com. We used GPS to locate and travel to the motel. Conveniently located 1st street off the highway. Room was reasonably priced. Motel 6 had fared much better in on-line reviews than the two cheaper options provided by booking.com. Room was very clean, had great amenities. The faults were loud neighbors and the cable tv reception broke overnight. No breakfast, but coffee and iced water was provided.
Stale cigarette smell in non smoking hotel.
travelingmoma2017on 13/10/2017 06:57Nice staff, but the room smelled like stale cigarettes. Stayed 2 nights first night could barely breath. Got some febreeze and the second night was ok. For what ever reason the floors on the main floor are not flat, it had dips and ripples. Wall air conditioner had no directions about froze us out. Bed and bedding seemed very new and were ok as well as the towels. Carpet on the on the other hand needed a cleaning or replaced.
BED BUGS!
Lisbel0711on 06/08/2017 03:20I was attacked by bed bugs at the Motel 6 in Appleton! Don't stay here! Customer service is awful!! Manager is mean and got nasty with me for letting him know what happened, like somehow this was my fault! He also threatened me if I wrote a review! Said I'd be sorry! Lol Really?! Rooms had stains on the mattress, dirt in the corners of the rooms and smelled like mold!! Sleep in your car before staying in this DUMP!!
A dump with a capital D
Clifford Bon 05/08/2017 04:04This place ranks at the bottom of all my world wide travels over 50 years (and I've traveled a lot) As you walk in or go through any outside door there are cig butts by the hundreds surrounding the entrances.
The side entrance was broken so anyone could access the building at any time from the parking lot. The self-closing door for the stairwell was broken so it didn't close. This is a fire hazard. Its obvious that the mother company hasn't looked at this property or else they just use it as a cash cow with no upkeep. Motel 6s are not my usual place to stay but at least most of them are clean. This one ain't even close.
The desk people were nice but that was the best item of this entire stay.
The room was a dump, period. The floor carpet was so dirty and stained (and I mean stained hundreds of places all over the room) that your feet go black just walking across the room. The furniture was dented, scraped, very well abused. Really, it was just a dump. Won't be back. If I go to Airventure again and can't find a different hotel I'll go all the way to Greenbay before I stay here again.
