WORST MOTEL STAY EVER

two elderly women...(both in 70s) with medical issues requiring easy access...and we were refused first floor rooms...ALTHO WE ARRIVED EARLY AFTERNOON.
we were given a comp internet day for one of the two days of our stay...which front desk forgot to record. therefore forcing me (WITH THE PAPERWORK) to walk to elevator and then get off and walk to the furthest end of the building to our room, TWICE!!
the walk-ins at the front desk were very scruffy looking...and that is kind. there were several groups of youngish (teens and 20s) persons that were just wandering the hotel. police were there at least one time (THAT I KNOW OF) during my stay...
I WILL NEVER STAY AT THIS LOCATION AGAIN..AND I TRAVEL THRU CHULA VISTA A LOT. DO NOT STAY HERE IF YOU VALUE SAFETY AND GOOD GUEST TREATMENT BY HOTEL STAFF.
I never complain

I picked this hotel because of the price. Only $110 after taxes and for the area that is cheap! At first glance the room APPEARED clean.
Main complaint is the linen for the bed....The sheets were covered in long black hair and the main blanket was covered in stains. The mattress was so thin you could feel the springs.
Next complaint: the walls were so thin I could hear my neighbors normal volume conversation.
The bathroom was clean and shower was fine.
The NIGHT desk gentleman was very nice despite being run ragged by everything happening at once.
The morning clerk had an attitude though which is strange to me.
You get what you pay for however.
Well, at least it's cheap (by San Diego standards).

Interestingly, when I had been in San Diego previously, I stayed at the Hotel Circle Motel 6 (which cost a lot more than this one) and I came down to check out the Chula Vista property to see if I might consider staying there in the future. At the time I was totally turned off just by the people who were coming and going in the area. However, I wanted to see how economical I could make this latest trip so I decided to give it a go. I flew in using points, used only public transportation, and stayed here.
First of all, this place has a lot going for it in terms of location. It is across the street from the E Street Transit Station, and it is within easy walking distance from at least ten eateries, including McDonalds, Denneys, and Taco Bell. It is right next door to the Black Angus Steak House.
I'm sorry, but there are just a lot of creepy people in this area. Panhandler, prostitutes, crazy people. However, I pretty much stayed in my room when I wasn't working. I was there eleven days and at times, but not all the time, there was a fair amount of noise. I handled this pretty effectively with ear plugs and the air conditioner/heater fan. The room itself was one of the remodeled ones that are so prevalent now. It was decent but in one spot the Pergo-esque flooring had come loose. It looked like in the past someone had tried to push the door in because the safety latch and the electronic card reader thing were both about to come off the wall (photo). The TV remote was missing a battery cover and was held together with tape. This was a non-smoking room but there was a cigarette burn on the bathtub and one on the bedspread. The room did not smell of smoke. There were no cockroaches or other vermin.
The bed was decent, as was the bedding. Some of the towels were a little worn. It seemed impossible to get a full complement of towels each day. Something was always missing. Sometimes the room was not done until 5 or 6pm. This was disappointing when I got back from work and just wanted to undress and relax.
The people at the front desk were reasonably nice. All in all, I will probably stay here on future trips as long as I'm not with my wife...she wouldn't go near this place.
Customer Service Highly Recommended

As a visitor, visiting someone who was staying at this Motel, the experience with the General Manager Ms. Tracey Spencer was very disturbing. Information given out by Ms. Spencer is being used as a scare tactic to the customer(s) believing that Chula Vista Police Department is requiring the Identification of everyone that steps foot on this property for the purpose of security reason and your property(Identification) is being kept on file for 30 days. When asked Ms. Spencer about the policy, she got very defensive and stated " its in our audit", huh, audit and Policy is two different things. She went on to say, "oh well, your not getting your ID back". Not only is this illegal, but you are holding someone's property hostage for 30 days without anything written showing the customer(s) that this is policy. In addition, your ID is not kept in a safe locked place, but rather open for everyone to see. I felt so uncomfortable and violated. The property has so much potential, but the customer service is horrible. You can't lead by example, if the General Manager examples are rude. Someone like this should not be running this property.
