    Good location... nothing special!

Great location near lots of shops and restaurants. Hotel manager/owner was a bit rude sometimes. Nice pool. Room could do with more storage shelves/wardrobes. Spacious Bathroom. Don't get the faster (more expensive wifi) theres no difference between the cheaper version. Stayed June/July 2015

9/22-9/24 Booked but left!!! Bed Bugs!!!

This was probably the most run down and one of the dirtiest Motel 6's I have ever encountered. Now for the icing on the cake.
So, my wife, 3-year old daughter, 2 month old son, & I decided to stay here while the rest of our family were camping. This was the only motel/ hotel available due to a busy weekend. Well we now know why it was available. BED BUGS!!! It was about 3:30am when the little one woke up crying which eventually had most of us awake except my daughter. She was sound asleep on one of the beds when my wife noticed something crawling on her. Immediately looked up bed bugs to see what they looked like and what do you know? It was a flipping bed bug. I decided to have a look around both beds with my flashlight. Sure enough, a couple more were spotted cruising around.
We were up and out within 10-15 minutes.
Management has apologized numerous times and they are working to get our money refunded. They said that they are required to get an inspection done before they can though. I think that they should not have to wait for the inspection. Clearly the bug we gave you in the bag is a bed bug. Go look at the beds in room 157 and see the others.
This was an experience I thought I would never encounter.
Consider this a PSA- Never reduce yourself to Motel 6 when all other motels/hotels are sold out! Sleep in your car!
Amazing that the cleaning staff doesn't say anything because these things cannot be missed.

    Terrible Place!

Due to an unfortunate circumstances with another booked hotel we had to look for another hotel on a Labor Day weekend, when we inquired here my husband was told they had only one room available unfortunately without air and on the end at street side, my husband took it because we had little choice. To make matters worse they charged us $200 for the night and a small room beneath the stairs right next to street! When we checked out after a miserable night of no sleep because of the heat, no air, traffic noise and guests loudly talking until 3am I went to front desk and complained about the $200 a night charge - they took advantage of our bad circumstances and price gouging! The manager agreed to take $30 off, which was still overpriced for a Bad Motel 6. We have never stayed at a Motel 6 and will never again, but this one had to be the worst since other guests were complaining about no air and the price they were charged, Dover weren't the only one's they overcharged!!

    Really?

Booked here for 2 nights. Got a room in the back away from the freeway noise. Shower was smaller than a cruise ship. If you drop a soap, you have to get out of the shower to pick it up. When we checked in there were 2 cars in the back parking lot with a person sitting in the driver's seat. Just sitting there. Waiting for a drug deal? The bed linens were old and scratchy. AND they charged $175 a night. On the last night, a drunk ran up and down banging on doors. Really?

Gritty floor, marks on bathroom wall, NO KLEENEX (but great staff)

Surprised my 80 year old best friend with a birthday trip to Santa Barbara, August 21-22, 2017 and decided to stay in Carpenteria where it is cheaper. We stayed in the Motel 6 "South" fairly close to area beach and shopping. Here are my thoughts:

PROS: Location was great. Service and staff were exemplary. Phil, the manager was extremely accommodating in helping me make the surprise birthday celebration even more special by putting flowers and sparkling apple cider in our room. Erin was a doll as was the other counter person. The big screen TV was nice. I enjoyed being able to open the window for fresh air and there were plenty of outlets near the bed to charge mobile devices. Being able to bring the dog along for free was a huge plus.

CONS: BUT... the room was very, very disappointing. First of all, the floor was gritty with who knows what. It had not been swept. There were pencil marks on the wall above the toilet paper holder. The top of the curtain near the bed closest to the door was filthy with dust. There is no Kleenex in the rooms!!! Why? I was offered a roll of toilet paper, instead. If you have enough money for extra rolls of toilet paper, you can save that expense and buy cheap Kleenex from the 99c store! The beds were TOO HARD and you could hear shower/water running from guests above (next door?) us. Not to mention how noisy they were (I guess due to no carpets). Lastly, it is RIDICULOUS to have to pay $4.99 for WiFi in this day and age!

SUGGESTIONS: Put Kleenex in the rooms! Clean the rooms thoroughly! Don't charge for WiFi!
