There are many lovely things about this hotel. The grounds are beautiful and well-maintained, and the view is breathtaking. The staff was friendly, though not especially responsive when there was a problem. There was a certain "theme park" feel to things, which isn't our style, but we decided to just view it as charming. (Case in point, there are Disneyland-esque waterfall showers in the bathroom. Definitely a little fake-looking, but fun!)
My main disappointment, however, was the fact that the pool bar played loud music in the evening, and the bass reverberated through our room. For me, this really detracts from the serenity and beauty of the locale, but I'm aware that this a just a personal preference of mine. The staff was not helpful in resolving this complaint, despite two requests.
Otherwise, the breakfast was decent/good, the rooms were large and lovely, and we loved our little back porch. We had some issues with our jacuzzi that took three requests to the staff to remedy. However, once it was working, it was a fabulous feature! Although outside on our porch, it felt secluded since it was surrounded by vegetation.
If you don't mind noise, you might really enjoy this place.

I give this resort 3 stars based on several things. Pros: the grounds are incredibly gorgeous and well maintained. Rooms are private. Also, every room has a king bed. This was necessary for our honey moon as my husband is 6'5". Also, the bar staff and joshey at the front desk were very nice.
Otherwise, this resort was disappointing. The rooms are very outdated. On our first night, it rained and when we woke up there were worms all over our room (7-8). Needless to say we switched rooms. The new room was smaller and even more outdated. The shower was ancient. The pool is very warm which is nice but the "bar options" at the pool bar are limited and disappointing. The pool is very small and the "waterfall" is very fake looking and tacky.
Food at the restaurant is extremely underwhelming and overpriced.
This hotel is located in paradise....but the establishment itself was not up to par.
As I mentioned, this was my honeymoon and I expected better for the price.

Everything was fine the whole experience was great, staff was very kind specially Luis from the restaurant. One of the nicest and best prepared waiters wr have ever encountered.
The hotel was great and the privacy amazing

My husband and I were grateful to relax and have a couples massage at the devas spa. It was our first trip to Costa Rica and we had activities planned for every morning. The mud message by Karla and Mary was a perfect touch to our final night staying at the resort. It was beyond expectations. I can’t recommend having a message here enough.

The pictures of the hotel online look much better than the reality. Of course, the view of the volcano is nice, but the little houses are super old-fashioned and dark.
The garden is very nice and the room was clean.
The breakfast was not good at all (small variety, quality not good) so we decided to eat somewhere else on our second morning.
The pool is small and was always crowded.
All in all I think there are better options in the area.
