I'm probably getting repetitive with these reviews but again this is a good hotel with helpful and friendly staff. Free and easy parking were appreciated as was the hotel's location - close to what we needed.
The room was a quiet even though we were on the street frontage and of a good size with a view of sorts.

We booked into here on the way back from our shuswap motorcycle trip. It was a nice place. Staff was friendly and helpful and outdoor hot tub was Nice (common area by pool) the room was clean and rustic. Internet was good and our room did have a refrigerator.
A word of warning to fellow tall people out there, the roof overhangs very low on upper floors, watch your noggin!

AVOID THIS HOTEL - it is run by rude, dishonest people.
We went on a tour of the Canadian Rockies with three families, staying in hotels in Vancouver, Sun Peaks, Valemount, Canmore, Calgary, and Kelowna. We had three families from various cities around the world, and it would have been a very pleasant trip except for our experience with this hotel in Canmore. Our experience with this hotel also cast a negative light on our entire Canadian vacation.
We booked three rooms for two nights here in August through Hotels.com. When we came back to our room late in the evening on the second night, we found that none of our rooms had been made up from the night before.
We brought this up to the clerk on duty at the time, who was very apologetic. She scrambled around to gather clean towels, and offered to give us a 25% discount on our room rate. This sounded like an acceptable solution.
The next morning we spoke to the manager, Sally [--], when we checked out. She had already been informed of the situation, and she confirmed that she would give us a 25% discount. She assured us that she would notify Hotel.com which would send us the refund. To show her sincerity, she put her name and phone number and 25% discount in writing (see photo). She told us that it would take several weeks for the refund to go through.
Almost two months went by without us hearing from either the Mountain View Inn or hotels.com, so we contacted each of them. hotels.com replied that the hotel would not authorize the refund when they contacted the manager. We called Sally [--] and she denied that she had offered the discount. She stated that the hotel rate does not include house cleaning (we were never made aware of that nor told that before we checked in the hotel or when we checked out). Therefore they are not responsible to clean the room or replace used towels, etc. She refused to make good on their verbal and written agreement to give that 25% discount. How deceptive the management of Mountain View Inn is! We have been traveling quite frequently over the years and have stayed in numerous hotels all over the world, and this is the first time we were informed that the hotel fee doesn’t include cleaning or providing fresh towels (this is a hotel, not airbnb).
hotels.com were no help. They just accepted what the hotel manager told them. They said they could not help because our reservation has closed??!! That makes no sense at all, because all of this happened 7 weeks ago. We checked out the hotel fully expecting a 25% discount refund. There was no reason to file a complain to hotels.com while the reservation was open.
Mountain View Inn demonstrated poor business practice by not fulfilling a promise that they made both verbally and in writing.

Stayed here as cheaper than Banff. Close to the highway so easy access and easy to find. Reception staff were very helpful. No breakfast but coffee provided in a common area with vending machines for drinks and snacks. No housekeeping so be prepared to make your own bed and go to reception if you need fresh towels etc. No lift so again, be prepared to lug your cases up the stairs. However the room was big, clean and well furnished. The addition of a small fridge would have made the stay so much more pleasant and convenient. Hotel is ideally located for going into Hinton which has loads of restaurants and for exploring the area.

We stayed at this hotel in the summer for 3 nights. I booked the hotel based on the pictures and online reviews, however, the room that we were given was not at all like the pictures. The furniture was very old, worn and tired which was a stark difference to the photos online.
The hotel is located close to town which is great for walking and sight seeing.
If you plan to spend a lot of time outdoors it might be an option for you, however, I would pass on staying at this hotel again.
