we booked a room at Myrto for two nights this October while in Athens, we chose it because of the location and the semi positive reviews on booking.com ( beware of their review score system it is far from accurate).
we weren't expecting much, but given the pictures on booking.com it seemed like a decent relatively cost efficient choice for central Athens.
We specifically asked Myrto for a quiet room, and upon arrival were assured by the indifferent clerk that we got a quiet room.
I suppose their definition of quiet - is a non-soundproof room right across a new trendy bar.
to cut a long story short after a long night of no help whatsoever by the front desk to try and do something about the blasting music in our room- I marched across the street at 3:00 AM ( 3:00 AM!!!!) and asked the bar owner if they can turn down the outside speakers. of course the owner immediately complied and we were semi able to go to bed extremely tired and aggravated.
on top of all this- rooms looked nothing similar to how they are portrayed by the property. everything is run down and not very clean.
Bed is very hard and uncomfortable, and there seem to be a lot of mosquito as well ( they even put anti mosquito stuff in the room so you can "deal with it" instead of just fixing nets or screens on windows and doors.
Service was beyond rude and indifferent- never in my life did we come across such rude staff who not only gave us an impolite attitude but were downright indifferent.
we ended up leaving the next day and booking at a different hotel. needless to say we are still waiting to get our money back from Myrto.
we are a young, friendly couple, we like outdoor campin, have slept at various guesthouses as well as 5 star hotels-point is we are versatile, not spoiled and weren't expecting much from Myrto except a good night sleep and a bit of customer service. we got neither.
My advice: avoid at all costs- worth spending a bit more and having a good experience and not staying in this run down establishment.

It was a small hotel in an old building with an ancient lift which can only fit 1 person + luggage at one time. it was ok for only an overnight sleep but not recommend for a long stay. The room looks old and I'm pretty sure it wasn't look the same on the picture when i booked the room.

No proffesional hotel personel and a dirty room (if that's how you call it). After complaining we were totally ignored. Two days was far too long. Do not go there, and don't buy the way they present themselves on internet. The photos do not look like the hotel at all.

Basic beds, bedding, toiletries, towels and furniture for a 'superior room '.
Winding stairs to the second floor with an ancient lift which will only take one person. I
Only good point is location.
The Plaka area is full of bars, cafes, restaurants and shops.

My husband and I stayed here for one night before heading to Rafina port to catch a ferry to Mykonos.
The beds were comfy, the room was clean and the staff were friendly.
Facilities were great inc pool bar and also the food.
We would stay here again.
