I stayed at this Hotel and I when I checked in they asked me for my credit card, when I told them to charge the amount of my staying they told me they will put on my card a higher amount in case I need to spend money at the restaurant.
when I checked out they charged my staying in Dominican Pesos, I asked him is that amount the same as my reservation in Dollars he replied "but off course Sir"
When I checked my invoice he over charged $ 50 dollars which I am sure he put in his pocked, when I called him, his answer was " well you signed for that charge sir'.
So it is true what People say about this hotel, they overcharge when you check out, my advice is PAY IN CASH so they don't get the chance to rip you off, they think once you leave the country that's it, you are gone, no chance you will get your money back but YOU can still call your credit card and get even.

The Napolitano is an average hotel room with great views of the sea. If you can pay a little more, reserve the superior rooms as they are more modern and spacious. Wifi works poorly, breakfast is typical tasty Dominican foods, and they have a small casino enclosed. Expect to find some wear and tear around this hotel and in your room. If you go in not expecting a 5 star hotel you will more than likely love it. The pool area is a gem and a good way to kill time. The restaurant i found to be quite tasteless during the evening. With that said its by far the best hotel in the colonial zone. The other hotels are extremely dated with tiny rooms.

I found this hotel which had a way better price than others I used to stay in.
Located right on the Malecon and close to all. Was surprised about the spacious room with 2 queen size beds, loved the view to the ocean. Also bathroom was nice and clean with little soaps, shampoo and conditioner....Evening and dinner I spend in the restaurant next to the pool. Delicious filet, ice cold beer and great wine!
Also very friendly service! After a good night sleep I did enjoy a really great break fast buffet with lots of variety of all you can imagine! Coffee was really perfect!

The hotel is great overall. Many employees remembered me. Bellman Richard is excellent. Very personal and just great. Angel and the evening bartender were great as well as morning staff at the terraza. But my favorite was Paulina in housekeeping. I asked to stay on 5th floor so Paulina took care of my room, she provides special service. I even dropped my safety deposit box key, she found it in the room and returned to me. I left most of my valuables outside in plain view and nothing was ever missing. I will continue to return to El Napolitano...special thanks to Leydi Alcántara.

Stayed here for 3 nights in September. I got a room at the top over-looking the pool. It has an amazing view. I would definitely recommend. Breakfast was good there and I paid for dinner there every night. It was good also. My only cons to this place was when it was raining, the rain got in somehow through the walls. It leaked really bad and there was a puddle which got the bed sheets wet, since they were hanging off the bed unto the floor. The window was definitely closed while it was raining. You don't want to wake up and step in a puddle like I did. After a phone call to the receptionist, they came to mop up the water. Other than that everything else was great.
