4 of us South African ladies had the most wonderful relaxed holiday of a lifetime . Stayed at Ndame with such friendly staff and Hans the owner. We felt like one family when we left. The rooms with basic but so clean . It was never to much effort to make us feel welcome. We didn't even want to visit the other places. On the sea with the mist spectacular sunrise and sunset. Service was outstanding. We as South Africans just missed an aircon. Very hot and humid but it didn't spoil tve holiday. Thank you so much Hans for organising also the fresh fish . Wow it was outstanding. Hope to be back soon. Ronel Chantelle Hilary and Margaret.

We spend three nights here in October and really enjoyed the stay. The reception staff were friendly, helpful and accommodating. They booked daytrips for us and were happy for us to stay in the room well after the check out time.
The rooms are very basic but clean (though we did have a constant war with ants which we somehow managed to contain). The bed was comfortable and had a mosquito net.
The beach and the water are beautiful, really amazing. You have the constant beach boys trying to sell you stuff but most of them were pleasant enough and not to aggressive. There are plenty of deck chairs that you can drag around to wherever you like. It is really easy to spend the day here, reading a book, sleep or having a couple of drinks.
The bar and the restaurant are fine. The staff work really long hours but somehow manage to stay friendly. We had all of our meals here and enjoyed them (though dinner took way too long to arrive on the first night, well over an hour).
We had a room towards one side of the property which was fine (except on the first night as there seemed to be a party going on in the hotel next door).

Ndame is in a great resort in Paje. The rooms are more on the basic side but the property has plenty of hammocks, beach chairs, and a bar deck for relaxing. The food at the restaurant is very good and the staff were very friendly. We had help from the front desk arranging some rides to activities nearby with no problems.

I visited Zanzibar already 4 times ; 15 years ago I was at this place- it is still fantastic; all staff is local people: very friendly and warm; yoy can feel atmosphere of relaxing without crowds of tourists; beach is beatufill; strongly recommended

We went there as a family of 10 back in August 2012. It was an amazing place tucked away in the middle of nowhere , so it's unspoilt , peaceful and totally natural. I am only adding the review now as I thought it had been added before, but unfortunately it hadn't. The hotel is clean and has a variety of rooms to suit all manner of travellers, cottages to family and single rooms most overlooking the white sandy beach and ocean. The staff were all very friendly and couldn't do enough form us. Only downside was the lights going out each evening , not sure why this used to happen, but it didn't spoil our time there. I will return again in the future.
