My wife and I arrived on Friday to stay over the weekend, we departed on Sunday morning after Breakfast.
We were Checked in by Haley, she was wonderful and welcoming. Throughout our stay at Netherby House Hotel Hailey was there for all our questions and needs.
Our room was the Room was the Standard EnSuite (four poster bed), was large, clean and bright.
The hotel in general was extremely clean and, warm and very comfortable.
We chose to have dinner at the Hotel restaurant on both nights, the food was EXCELLENT and Haley made every effort to making our meals fit to our tastes as well as to my wifes wheat and gluten allergy.
I can only say that this is a wonderful Hotel and restaurant that we highly recommend.

We were, initially, looking to stay right in Whitby but decided to book Netherby House as it looked so nice and the reviews were good. I can confirm that the good reviews are accurate. Very pleasant stay, lovely breakfasts, attentive staff and friendly fellow guests. The room was very comfortable and cosy and warm. Sleights is a very convenient base to explore Whitby and the surrounding area. I wouldn’t hesitate to stay at Netherby House again if we were in the area.

My mum and I have just returned from a 4 night stay at Netherby House. We had a lovely twin room with a beautiful view of the countryside. We enjoyed sitting in the summer house at the bottom of the gardens, so peaceful and idyllic. The breakfasts and evening meals were superb. Seen some reviews about the shower, but ours was great, oudles of hot water and a lovely powerful shower. Perfect location, near to Whitby and the beautiful Moors. Thank you Hayley for helping to make our stay so good, you are a credit to Netherby House.

In 2016, my mum and I stayed in Netherby House for the first time and had such an enjoyable stay that we knew that we would have to come back. This time we stayed for three nights and had yet another wonderful experience.
The staff (Hayley) were welcoming and friendly and even remembered us from our previous visit.
My mum is disabled and often finds it difficult to stay in hotels but had no problems here. Not only was she able to get around easily, she was also comfortable in the bed. This is a major factor for her when traveling with her disabilities, it is hard for her to be comfortable whilst she sleeps, so the fact that she found the accommodation in Netherby House to be good is a testament to the quality of their beds and mattresses!
Another standout feature is the fantastic view that is right at the bottom of the garden; it is beautiful and such a view is something other hotels do not have.
With quick access to Whitby, good breakfast, and such attentive service I would highly recommend Netherby House to anyone visiting the Whitby area.

We found Netherby House to be a perfect base for exploring the Whitby and North York Moors area. Our room was in the main house and was spotless and comfortable. The hospitality tray was well stocked with a good selection of Yorkshire tea, coffee and hot chocolate plus cookies. The weather during our stay was changeable so we were pleased to find the heating worked very well and the room was warm and cosy. Decent sized if a little dated bathroom with plenty of towels and small toiletries. The shower was the only issue. Lack of water pressure meant the shower was a bit weak but usable. Breakfast was delicious with a very good selection of both cereal, fruit and yoghurt plus excellent choice of cooked items. We chose the smoked salmon and scrambled eggs on two days and they were perfect, well cooked and plentiful. The full English was very good. Perfectly cooked and obviously quality ingredients. We also had dinner here on one night and found the food very good. Again, quality ingredients well cooked and reasonable priced. We tried the pub up the road for one night and were very disappointed and regretted not eating at Netherby instead. The staff at Netherby were a credit to the owners. Friendly, pleasant and hard working and the house itself is charming with the most beautiful large garden. All in all, a very enjoyable short stay and one we will certainly be repeating.
