Visiting Kashmir is actually visiting paradise, this is something which can be be felt only by visiting here.
There is an advertisement in television where an old man pretend to be a taxi driver just to make a tourist couple happy.
I think the advertisement is not exaggeration but most of the kashmiri pol are like that only. And Yakub Dunoo the owner of New Golden Flower house boat is like that only.
I think it was not a houseboat but a house itself. The hospitality offered at New Golden Flower was awesome. We have just provisioned 2 days in the houseboat but end up staying 4 days.
Ppl have a perception that taxi is a loot in kashmir and it is true to an extent. But luckily I chose New Golden Flower and trust me the Yakub treats their guests as a family and he will make sure you have best driver at a best price.
If you ask my 5 year daughter where she wants to go to this vacation and the answer will be kashmir. It is because of the comfort she has felt there.
Also I would like to add that The New Golden Flower is located at the Nigen lake's best location and for staying Nigen is better than Dal.

we had an amazing stay at the houseboat. whenever i used to read reviews before the trip and people used to praise yakub bhai. i had a figure in my mind who was old. but he is really young and charming. All house boats in kashmir has the same layout. three bedrooms with a dining and living room. The difference is only the service. The service has been topnotch. we asked for mutton gustaba which takes time for preparation and he readily accepted. His home is in the backyard of the house boat. i have stayed in another house boat but the service was not even 10% to the one recieved from yakubbhai. he arranges pickup from airport at a very reasonable price. you can rest assure you are in safe hands while you are in his house boat. After we checked out also he made sure that we are ok by calling us, This is the best house boat. The location also is really calm not like dal where we are chased when we take the shikari ride to buy some thing. WE WILL COME BACK. Kashmir is safe and an unbelievable place. the hypes in media is ruining the charm of the place.

We stay two nights at new golden flower. The view here is pretty nice,and I can totally feel relaxed. There is a nice guy called Mujtaba Dunoo he took us to local store,be our tourist guide and be our translator. In the evening, he also spent time with us to take a shikara. We had great time with him. However ,the charge here is too expensive .We had one day to Sonamarg and the charge is out of our budget . We have nothing to do but accept it . The room here is clean but we feel very hot in daytime. Wifi here doesn't work almost time. Apart from this thing, if you want a quiet place, maybe new golden flower is your choice.

Had been to this 100year old heritage boathouse and it was a wonderful experience. Yakub played a perfect host with providing a comfortable stay and cannot ask for more. Right from the transferring from airport, providing very clean stay, good food, special tea and also giving the right info for our visit and onward journeys. It was memorable stay and surely will come back. Very highly recommend.

This was a family trip and I chosen to stay in this peaceful place as compared to Dal Lake.
Awesome services with excellent hospitality. Owner of the house boat made us feel like our own home.
House boat experience is something unique which gives you royal feel.
If you are planning to travel Srinagar, select this house boat , you will not be regret.
