We have stayed at this hotel many times, we have access to the concierge level which is fabulous, the last nite at the cocktail hour they had popcorn and cotton candy spun on site for the kids, my son loved it! The breakfast in concierge level is very nice as well, the servers are very attentive. They also have yummy fruit infused waters and fresh cookies and fruit in lobby which is a very nice touch.
We had full ocean view balcony and a room in the outdated tower. The bed not the most comfy but housekeeping was awesome! We like the location near Fashion Island which is a great shopping and food mecca walking distance.

This is one of the most truly family friendly hotels I have encountered.
The rooms are big enough to allow my daughter room to play a little with out feeling trapped. The in-room refrigerator is almost a necessity for our family.
I just can't say enough about the main pool area and splash pad. The pool has a large 3 foot section where our daughter could safely play. The splash pad was an awesome surprise. It looks small and geared more toward the youngest visitors in the websites pics. But, our (almost) 5 year old had an absolute blast playing in the splash pad. The giant jinga and bean bags on the lawn were great for my whole family and perfect break from all day water fun.
The hotel is not on the beach but does offer a free shuttle for guest to nearby public beaches every hour.
The restaurant and bar restaurant offer a lot of kid options. While the food is tasty, it is expensive. A short walk across the street lands you at a stellar mall with a good food court, CPK and other family friendly restaurants.
I highly recommend this hotel.

My husband was at a conference here and while he was away at the meeting, I so enjoyed a couple of days to myself. Room service was very good and right on time.
The hotel was clean and I liked the fact that I could let fresh air in the room. I found the spa very private and comfortable. I also had a nice relaxing facial. The only problem I found was the pillows were terrible with no neck support. They did bring me up a newer one or bring your own.This hotel is in close driving or even walking distance to a nice shopping center across the street. It is a large hotel with several guests so I recommend booking well in advance.

Great location for a hotel as it's right across from Fashion Island Mall, close to Balboa Island, and the beach. Parking is easy in the parking lot and there are plenty of spaces but do know they charge per day for parking. We originally got a room overlooking the conference center roof but asked for a different room with a better view which we got with no questions asked. I really liked how they made that possible. We had a nice view of the golf course, water and a side view of the ocean. Ask for higher level rooms. The rooms were nice and roomy although I do think the beds were too soft for me. Maybe they are fine for others but not me. I also slept with my daughter and felt there was a sink in the middle. There were times the air conditioning wasn't as cold as we like. There service is great as we didn't have our rooms cleaned every day but when I called for clean towels and the trash taken out they came right away. One morning we ordered room service and the food was delivered warm and the service was great. We also ate one day at their restaurant and the service and food was very good. If we came back here, we would stay here again.

Could be walking a long distance. Great customer service, nice concierge club, bar food service until late in the evening. Good location, next to the mall. Overnight self park is $26, annoying when paying that much for the room.
