We stayed here prior to returning to the UK via the ferry from Santander. The hotel is well situated on the Gran Via. Upon arrival we were warmly greeted by 2 receptionists, one of whom offered to park the car in the hotel garage, a gesture we very much appreciated after a long day’s drive.
We had a large room on the 5th floor with a king size bed. There was an excellent walk-in shower with good water pressure. Decor was white and minimalist but the room was warm and comfortable. The bed was on the firm side but the linens were good quality.
Breakfast was a good quality buffet with an omelette station.
This was a very comfortable nights stay and we would go back.

In October 2017, my US-based team organized a high-profile 110+ person conference at NH Collection Villa de Bilbao. Guests were split between NH Collection and NH Zubialde, requiring close coordination between the two hotels.
At NH Collection, my team worked closely with Natalia (Events Manager) and Paulo (Front Desk Manager) for several months in the lead-up to the conference. Despite being busy most days, they always made efforts to take our calls and answer our emails. They were fantastic.
For the duration of the five-day conference, the entire NH Collection staff provided impeccable hospitality and customer service and were willing to help with literally anything to ensure that the event was successful. The front desk/reception was particularly warm and welcoming, even despite our daily barrage of requests (i.e. printing copies!). Thank you for all of your help!
During the event, our group used Villa, Gaminiz, Leyre, and Gran Via meeting rooms. We had a diverse group, which meant that we were constantly shifting from plenary to small groups and then back to plenary. We were very appreciative of the maintenance team who were able to organize the spaces quickly and efficiently.
Lastly, Bilbao is known as Spain’s Gastronomy Capital – and, for good reason. The variety of pintxos and local dishes throughout the city was just sensational. But, the food at NH Collection was exquisite. The chef and his kitchen cooked up AMAZING dishes each day for our buffet business lunch, leaving all of us eager to head downstairs to Mundaka to try the new dishes prepared for the day.
Without any reservations, we HIGHLY recommend NH Collection to others. On behalf of our global team, we extend our sincerest gratitude to your entire staff!

We only stayed here for one night but it was a good base for us to explore Bilbao.
The room was large, spacious and clean.
The room & the hotel is modern and comfortable and is in a very convenient location for the Guggenheim and many pintxos bars. It is also well placed near to the bus stop for the airport bus which was very handy.
We had a late flight on the day we checked out and the hotel happily stored our bags for the majority of the day and allowed us to relax in the bar area in the evening whilst we were waiting to travel to the airport.
The reason for 4 stars instead of 5 is due to the issues we had with the lift/elevator. We were on the 7th floor and on one occasion we got stuck in the lift as it continuously went up and down the floors without stopping and opening anywhere to let us out. Luckily we are not claustrophobic but I can imagine this being quite upsetting for anyone who is.
We used the emergency call button in the lift and were told that this sometimes happens and it would stop soon. It did but that perhaps isn't the point and it should be fixed.
Overall we had a very pleasant stay.

The rooms in this hotel look like they have been renovated recently, room was spacious, modern, perfectly cleaned, bed was pretty comfortable, a 10 minute walk to the Guggenheim, 3 blocks from the San Mames Stadium, and 5 to 15 minute walk to areas full of pintxos bars. This hotel was the first one I've stayed that provides a map with routes recommendations in case you want to go for a run.

Very convenient location. Nice rooms and close to the Guggenheim Museum. The bar snacks were very good. Nice Bar area with comfortable seats. Lifts a bit hit and miss especially when there is a crowd.
