What People are saying

Outdated...dingy...disorganized...not clean...

JAR103on 30/10/2017 22:50

We stayed there a number of times over the years. It has gone downhill from the past. Broken light in bath. Broken lamp in bedroom.
Prison feeling I suppose.
The staff is clueless and not well dressed. This place needs a total managerial overhall. I give it two stars because it could be nice.

Average hotel, not bad, but not great either.

Not a bad hotel. Had to switch rooms because mine wasn't cleaned for the season, the room given was more than adequate. I'd stay again if I had to.. Not bad, breakfast was continental, very basic. The place was under rennovation when I stayed there. It was quiet, and the staff was helpful when they were in need of attention.

Awful -- avoid

This used to be a lovely hotel. My husband and I hosted our guests here 10 years ago when we got married. We stayed at the hotel, rented a block of rooms, and held a brunch back then. I was SO DISAPPOINTED to see the condition it's in now. I called for four days trying to confirm our reservation because their system was down. They finally said they could save a room for us but not guarantee the type. When we got there, the exterior of the property was a mess -- overgrown, weeds everywhere, cracked concrete, fallen leaves all over. Bazil, their restaurant, used to be mid to upscale dining. It now has a big sign saying "we deliver" and at 9:30 pm on a Saturday seemed to be closed since no lights were on. On the check-in desk two big signs were taped -- one saying the pool was closed indefinitely and the other from a local realtor advertising a house for sale in the area. ?!? Check-in took forever because it had to be done by hand with paper and pen, and the clerk spend ten minutes trying to find all her papers she had apparently misplaced. Despite the fact that we paid for two queens, they couldn't give us that type of room. On the way to the room we noticed dirty cups, takeout containers, and other trash that had not been picked up in the dining area, on tables by the elevators, etc. When we got into the room we saw that the heater had a huge dent and looked as if it had been kicked in. The thermostat was broke (we could look in a hole and see wires), the safety lock on our door was missing, and the fixtures in the sink and tub were surrounded by rust. The whole place was just disgusting. We paid about $120 for the night with tax and were glad to leave in the morning. There are many affordable and relatively new hotels in the area. Avoid this one!

Did I stay at the same hotel as everyone else?

I'm not sure if someone has a vendetta against the hotel or not, but based on the reviews I almost backed out, and am sure glad that I didn't!

I really enjoyed by stay here. It was a really nice room, and truthfully the common areas including the landscaping and interior hallways were rather attractive. Usually the reviews on TripAdvisor are spot on, but this time not so much. Really nice hotel for an overnight stay and would not mind at all staying here again if in the area.

Perhaps some reviewers were turned off by the 20-something kids at the front desk who looked bored to tears, but if you were making 10 bucks an hour working 30 hours a week at some roadside motel, you would be too! Or perhaps the rather skimpy breakfast was a bit of a turn-off. Well truth be told most chain hotels have breakfast that are not anything to write home about unless you think that eggs that taste like rubber is the ideal of living.

Nice place overall and would recommend it to others.

Don't Stay Here, Hotel is Not What is Advertised

Where to begin...

1) Has issues with locks to rooms every day, had to get keys re-coded every day
2) Because of the key issue the first time, had to move rooms. Then where they put me the second time, could not get a cell phone signal or internet. Moved to third room.
3) Rooms smelled like mold. I had that when I got into my second and third room, and I have asthma and have had issues with it since I returned due to the smell and dampness of the rooms.
4) Front Desk Staff: When I asked to be moved to the third room, girl (who was pregnant) was rude with me and made it sound like it was an inconvenience to do it. Staff was not dressed appropriately for a hotel and had their boyfriends, etc. sitting in the breakfast area waiting for them. Had this issue when I went to the desk, I had to go get her because she was watching television with her significant other.
5) On each floor I was on, there was water damage on some of the ceiling panels, and some of them were even missing with wires exposed hanging out
6) All ice machines we're broken
7) Pool as not operational, could not use it.
8) Wi-Fi is free, but it is terrible. Could not do much of anything with it.

This was probably the worst experience I have ever had at a hotel, and I travel a lot. This hotel was highly recommended to me from friends that live in the area and grew up there, but apparently, with new management taking over recently it has severely gone down hill, and they did not know that or they would not have recommended it.

I wish I could have gotten my money back for this hotel stay and went somewhere else, but this was pre-paid so I was stuck.

Save the time, and the hassle and stay somewhere else.
