For location and bedrooms ther is every reason to choose this hotel, but the service and attention to detail of the staff team sadly let’s the side down.
High staff turnover means not enough attention to training, and only a very few frontline staff speak international languages - and the ones that do try very hard but don’t often have the skills to discuss anything more than a regular item.
Housekeeping team perform the standard routine clean and failed to notice a blocked shower drain - for 2 days - despite a flooded bathroom and wet bedroom carpet, and directly asking the front desk team to have the problem solved.
Breakfast buffet management shows cost cutting, poor attention to detail, and again a lack of management as the restaurant team don’t work together.
Change the management team, invest in staff training and service, or downgrade - this doesn’t reflect the Novotel brand aspirations

I stayed here for my trip to the book fair in Beijing. I had numerous requests outside of my normal booking, and Felix Yeo and his staff were extremely helpful and made my stay a very easy and pleasant one. Most welcome was the handmade breakfast left for me when I checked out at 5 o'clock in the morning on my departure. Thoroughly recommended.

A bit of a surprise when we arrived as we did not expect such a nice place, although had problems communicating with locals our guide was a great assistance. Bed was a little bit hard but not uncomfortable. All facilities were there (except face book)
Breakfasts were great with a mix of western and eastern food available, although toaster could be quicker.

The hotel is looking tired. It is a good location as it is not far from the embassy district and is just upstairs from the airport express station so when you arrive you just need to head up and you have arrived at the hotel. The reception staff were ok but the restaurant staff were lazy and sloppy. The pool and gym is tired. Rooms have various issues of wear and tear. It was about $100 so not too expensive but I reckon the rooms are not even worth $100. Not the end of the world but you should not be expecting too much service there.

This is a fine hotel with all the modern bells and whistles. The breakfasts are wonderful with a large selection and nicely presented. The room transforms into a dining room for late afternoon and evening and I felt it was less than acceptable. The rooms are clean, comfortable and adequate, but definitely no more than four star
