The staff were incredibly friendly and went out of their way to help where possible.
My room 322 was a big room and had a separate lounge and TV. Surprisingly the small air-conditioning cool down my room.
A good location for walking anywhere in Darwin CBD and closely located to the local Woolworths.
The lobby area was okay, although needs a general makeover.

As usual the staff were brilliant. A big thumbs up to Deirdre and her team were brilliant . They are always helpful, friendly and very efficient. Unfortunately the building is starting to show its age. The air con in one of the rooms had water dripping on the floor from the ceiling. We have experienced that before in a previous trip (different room). The movie channel appeared to be playing up. A bit of a bummer for my son as he was looking forward to watching a movie. The location is great, pool was great. All the staff we spoke to were great. They deserve a bonus.

Motel looked nice from the outside and at reception. Customer service was excellent where everyone was welcoming and helpful.
Room amenities basic (hot climate, and no complimentary water!). Rooms a little out dated and needs a freshen up, however nice and quiet, which helps for a good sleep.
Meals from the in house restaurant were well priced and quality good.
Apart from the noisey ceiling fan in room 505, I would stay there again, due to the quality of customer service I received.

My son and I stayed here twice in October for one night each, either side of a tour to Kakadu and Arnhem Land. It's fine for that sort of transit stay, when you just need a place to stay and get your stuff together before and after an excursion.
Staff were almost universally polite, friendly and smiling, one exception being trying to check out the first time when there were long lines and the process was slow.
As other reviews say, the rooms and the hotel in general badly need refurbishment. The whole thing just looks tired and tatty. Also on both occasions our view was of a wall about six feet away, meaning no light (particularly the night we spent on the first floor - room 101! I always wondered what was in my Room 101. It turns out to be faded soft furnishings.)
On both our evenings there we ate at the restaurant, which was pretty good. We had some trouble with breakfast though: the forms suggest you can get room service at any time from 6am so we booked our breakfast for then in order to make a 6.25am pick-up from the hotel. By 6.15am there was no sign of it and we eventually tracked it down to the restaurant - 6am is actually the time the kitchen opens so there was no way they could ever have got it to us in time. We did get it, but with no time to eat it! The second time, we just got the buffet, which was fine.
The location is pretty good, right on the Esplanade (if you have kids don't miss the vast playground and slide - come out of the hotel and turn right). It's a 15 minute walk from the Darwin waterfront, 5-10 from the shops.

A classic style in need of a makeover but certainly not too tired for the too tired.
Walking distance from the airport, the hotel is a great location for a quick business visit.
Clean and tidy but the shower leaked (reported).
Reception was welcoming and check in a breeze. Thought of going for a swim, as my room overlooked the pool, but it seemed I needed to walk through reception to get there. Too tired to really check.
There is only Chinese for a meal (including room service).
There is a small supermarkety room in reception for lollies, bikkies and such.
