Wonderful holiday.
1mouses1on 01/09/2017 09:16After a wonderful boat trip to the Cascade Lodge we were met by the gracious and helpful manager,Sam.
He showed us around and was always available if we needed his help.
Stephen the chef and Lydia his assistant fed and served us with marvellous meals in the most stunning setting overlooking the Zambezi.
Lennon our boat driver and guide took us fishing (I caught my first Tiger fish) and on a game viewing excursion to Chobe. All very professionally managed, very informative and lots of fun.
Thank you to the team for a wonderful holiday...we'll be back.
Complete Five star experience. Luxurious yes, pretentious no! Already yearning to return
Katie Don 24/02/2017 18:51I have been blessed with much travel in my lifetime, and I tell you with no hesitation that this is a true hidden gem. The entire trip was seemless. We were greeted at the Kasane airport by a lovely staff member who whisked us away in a openair jeep, took us through customs process (true Africa experience) then put us on a boat that took us for a beautiful ride to the lodge. We saw our first hippos within five minutes. I was giddy!
Upon arrival we were again greeted by lovely staff who helped with luggage and served us cocktails.
I don't have enough room to detail more, but you will enjoy cold refreshments, delicious food (most likely weight gain), delightful conversation, local culture, beautiful scenery, tranquility and stunning wildlife.
I hope you take this review to heart and go visit. You too will write the same review!! Enjoy your trip!
Fellow traveler,
Katie
tranquility at its best
nevtraveller2013on 19/02/2017 21:40A travel by boat up the Kassia channel into the Zambezi river brings you to more river with hippos and crocs so it appeared. The boat stopped and our driver informed us we were three minutes away from our destiny, I looked around but saw no buildings, no telltale indication of habitation so where was our home for the next couple if days? We followed a channel through the reeds and soon drifted up to a jetty with a handful of smiling people waiting for our arrival, Our bags were taken from us and we were led along a fascinating floating raft come pathway to the lodge, and what a place it is beautifully layed out with decking over the Zambezi river tables and comfy chairs, the interior with a lovely lounge with tea and cake ready for us to enjoy. After settling down we were taken to our rooms which blew us away, huge comfy bed with sliding doors opening out to our own little pool and beyond again a view of the Zambezi river. The bathroom with sliding doors out into the open, lovely bright space with huge bath abd shower, double basin shaped like Makoro canoes and everything needed to make you feel at home and fresh. If you so wish there is a shower outside in the open as well but fear not there is no one to see you, its all yours. The service and staff are on hand anytime offering you everything you need. If you need to know anything about the wildlife, Crispos and the Rafael know the intimate detail and are willing to help. Rafael was our boat driver. Crispos is the Manager. All I can say is try it out, what an experience. Brett and Jacqui joined us on the second day which enhanced the experience. The food? fantastic, everything is cooked fresh even the bread is baked on the island which is so lovely.
Luxury and Peace on a beautiful stretch of the Zambezi
Shale Con 08/01/2017 12:54Very spacious accommodation, friendly staff. Only couple at the lodge so it felt like our own paradise for 3 days. The birding on the river was excellent. Caught 20 tiger most small but still enjoyed the fight on spinner. Big fish caught drift fishing with bait. All catch and release! The guide was very friendly and professional. Great experience - the only negative was the fishing boat - no rod holders, live well or fishing seats believe the lodge own a few boats so if you serious on your fishing make sure the boat is suitable.

TinaMaunon 05/12/2016 04:40This little piece of paradise is a haven for anyone wanting to get away from it all. Surrounded by flowing streams with water cascading over the rocks, it sets a tranquil sense of wellbeing for visitors.
4 large beautifully decorated rooms make this an ideal family Camp. All rooms have a mini bar, coffee station and fans. A huge bathtub with a wonderful view as well as the romantic outside shower complete the luxury of one's stay. Staff were friendly and attentive and the food very good.
A highly recommended lodge.
