This is a quick review on the Ocean is Hotel, I'm currently in room A1 as I write this and so far it's perfect. The view from the window is to die for... simply stunning views over the port.
The room is clean and very well kept, aircon works and is keeping me cool as I write this. The hotel offer a free shuttle service to the restaurant and bars... trust me you need it.. if you have never been to Kefalonia be aware that they have never seen flat land in their lives.. everything is on a hill and walking in the heat is no easy task...
If you are coming to Kefalonia I recommend you hire a car as getting anywhere by foot is not an option.

mollie838on 15/06/2017 09:38Absolutely amazing! Stayed for one week which wasn't long enough for how beautiful the hotel and poros was an had to offer! I'll definitely be back shortly. The breakfast was lovely with homemase jams and marmalades and a good verity of food. Quite place but found myself walking into town everyday people at the hotel and poros very friendly and welcoming. Snorkeling there was my favourite thing to do while my father
Fished. The views are wonderful! Thank you Alex and family xx

Sally Non 12/06/2017 07:32We have just returned from a lovely 10 day stay at this hotel. We had prearranged for the hotel to do airport transfers and this went without a hitch. This is a family run hotel and they pour their hearts into ensuring guests feel welcome. The room was well equipped with fridge, kettle, hairdryer, glasses and bottle opener. The fridge was stocked with an assortment of soft drinks, beer and water. Also Ouzo and wine wee available. There was a price list and prices were what you pay in supermarket. The beds were comfy, quite firm mattresses which suited us. The balcony was adequate with a drying line and of course, those stunning views.

This hotel offers free aircon and wifi, with good connection
It was about 10- 15 minute walk into town but the path down by the side of taverna is steep and suface is rough. The walk back up is hard going! However the hotel offers free drop offs and pickups from town and the bars, taverna etc are happy to call the hotel when yiu're ready. Also, some of the tavernas will also run you back!
Poros itself is very quiet (other than the ferries) and had the feel and look of a town that has seen better days. It offers a rather limited selection of Tavernas.
There are 2 fabulous tavernas opposite the hotel so we found that there was enough choice for our 10 day stay
Wonderful views, wonderful owners
Clare Mon 11/06/2017 17:44Our room had the most wonderful view overlooking the town and harbour of Poros. We spent a lot of time drinking in the view in whilst relaxing on the balcony. The room and all the communal areas were clean. The hotel is family run and the owners were so helpful. We used their own transfer service to and from the airport and everything ran smoothly - it was also a lot cheaper than using the alternative provided by the tour operator. We realised fairly early on that public transport is not great in Poros so we would have to book a car to see other parts of the Island. The owners arranged a good deal on the car hire for us and also booked a boat trip at our request for our last full day. Sadly the boat trip was cancelled at the last minute, but despite this Maria found us an alternative one and arranged with the help of her son, Alexander, to get us there in time - all at what must have been the busiest time of the day for them. The hotel is up a fairly steep slope from the town, but do not let that put you off. There are a couple of nice tavernas within easy reach of the hotel if you do not want to walk into town and parking within Poros is easy. Poros itself was quiet, peaceful and relaxing. We had a wonderful, memorable holiday.

xdenxon 23/05/2017 16:30Just returned from 2 week stay at this lovely family run hotel. We have travelled the world and you can not get a better location.The views from this hotel are amazing!
It is rated 2 star but we have stopped in 5 star hotels that would struggle to match the cleanliness and attention to detail, fresh towels daily and bed sheets changed every other day. Food is fresh with a reasonable choice plus if you would like something in particular just ask! The family are very accommodating.
Lovely place to chill and good base to see this beautiful island. Looking forward to re-visiting soon!! Kath & Dennis Dauncey
