From arrival to departure we were treated very well. The room was very comfortable with all the amenities you need including bath robes. The breakfast was delicious with a great choice including vegitarian. Service was excellent. Will definitely stay here again next time in the area.

We had a lovely 3 night break at the Old Manse Hotel. The room was comfortable and was nice and quiet (Room 6) and had a cosy feel. Breakfast was really good and plenty of choice. Within walking distance to the train station for NYMR steam train (5 mins), supermarkets and pubs/restaurants. We enjoyed our stay in Pickering.

We had two nights stay and both were brilliant. Val (the owner) was so welcoming as was all the staff, we were made to feel so welcome right from walking through the door. Our room was so comfy and so clean, we slept so well in the comfy bed and it was a joy to go down for breakfast. Plenty of choice and as much as you could eat. The food was excellent. Thank you Val and your staff for making our stay so perfect, we will be back again and again. We would recommend the Old Manse Hotel to anyone wanting a peaceful stay and a comfortable stay away.

Nice welcome - offered tea and biscuits. Good car parking. Lovely room opening out onto back of property ( ideal for a dog ). Excellent breakfast choice, including fresh fruit. Convenient for North Yorks Moors Railway visit.

Our short stay at The Old Manse was very enjoyable. A welcoming atmosphere prevailed. Friendly service and a spirit of generosity ensured great customer satisfaction.
Food was excellent, An extensive range on offer at breakfast, both cooked and buffet items.
Dinner too was of a very high standard. Both meals were taken in the pleasant well lit dining area overlooking the garden.
Our room at the rear of the house was on the second floor was cosy, comfortable and clean as was the en suite.
This hotel is extremely well situated for visitors wishing to visit Whitby on the NYMR, being only a stones throw from the railway station, and the centre of Pickering itself. This is a charming, tranquil little town with scope for easy exploration by foot.
Valerie, the proprietor is an extremely attentive hostess who is fully engaged in the well being of her guests. Thank you Valerie for taking the trouble to forward on items which we had mistakenly left behind. Service above and beyond!
We look forward to returning at some time in the future.
