Comfy and Great Location for Historic Colorado Springs
Tricia D on 17/11/2017 00:28
We were greeted by Kim upon our arrival and were quickly escorted to a lovely room. She pointed out many of the amenities in the room but there was more then could possibly be reviewed - they have thought of everything from "rags for messes" to make-up clothes. In addition there was a plaque in the room welcoming us by name.
Just down the hall is a pantry with soft drinks, filtered water (they provided us was water bottles as a take away- an effort to being green), coffee, tea, cocoa and plenty of back up cosmetics just in case (even sunscreen). In the library on the first floor were snacks as well - cookies, pretzels and trail mix and hard candy assortments everywhere.
We had a water bed which was very comfortable and lit up when you moved the sheets at night with green flashes. In addition there were two very comfortable gliding chairs in the room, a small desk and a cabinet and drawers that housed the TV (with Xfinity) and a DVD - plenty of dvd's on site. The room was cozy and decorated in a western style but with soft touches like a special quilt on a quilt rack. There was a steam shower but we had no time to use it :( There was also a double sink.
One other unique quality of this b & b was the game room on the lower floor which has a tv, pool table and pin ball machine, a sitting area and a treadmill. My husband spent time there after I fell asleep.
Breakfast in the morning was elegantly served on tables with lovely table cloths, plate chargers and stem ware. Breakfast was prepared by Dave and was a hardy all american breakfast. We had eggs, bacon, french toast with what appeared to be a challah bread or similar, fresh berries and whipped cream - yum.
Last but not least was the location. You are just about 1 bock from the main street and a few blocks from Rt. 24 which is the main road to many of the local sites like Garden of the Gods, the Cog Railroad for Pikes Peak and Manitou Springs. Thanks Kim and Dave for being such gracious hosts.
Weekend Getaway!

We decided we needed a weekend away for a quick recoup and the Old Town Guest House did the trick. From the moment we were greeted until we said goodbye the experience was wonderful. The rooms were clean and welcoming, we stayed in the Victorian Rose room. Fireplace and a private hot tub with a beautiful view of Pikes Peak made for a perfect night. It sits right in the heart of Old Colorado City so there are plenty of great little shops, boutiques and restaurants to enjoy as well. We'll be back!

Location is perfect for walking old town. The B&B was very spacious and clean. Excellent breakfast. Very friendly staff. One of the best places we have stayed. Rates during the week are very good for the level of service and accommodations you recieve.
