This is s great hotel which I really recommend. It is situated in quite a high position in the city so anyone who has difficulty walking need to think carefully about this part of Lisbon. We were upgraded to a great room with large balcony overlooking the city. Staff very helpful regarding what to do and see in Lisbon. Breakfast is great value at 7.5 Euro for hot and cold dishes.
Very much recommended.
Great quiet location

This hotel is situated in a quiet cobbled street up a hill just below Castello Sao Jorge so away from the hustle and bustle of downtown Lisbon. We were upgraded to a superior suite which was comfortable, spacious and nicely furnished but not luxurious. As well as a quiet location, the hotel itself was quiet though the soundproofing between our room and the next wasn't good. The breakfast was plentiful and varied with hot and cold options. The staff were pleasant and helpful. It's possible to walk to several viewpoints, churches, museums and districts etc provided you don't mind hills! Sturdy soled shoes such as trainers necessary as the roads and pavements are crumbling. Much of the city is old and there is a fair bit of graffiti everywhere but the area around the hotel didn't feel rough. The city sights are more spread out compared to some capitals so transport is needed at some point e.g. Belem for the Torre, Jeronimos Monastery, river front etc on tram 15 (very crowded)! Would recommend this hotel and would return if visiting Lisbon again.
Fabulous location in Alfama neighborhood

We stayed in a large room with a great balcony in this very comfortable hotel located near the Sao Jorge Castle. Fabulous breakfast on site for €7.50. Tram #28 is nearby and the neighborhood is fun for walking. Front desk is helpful with taxi to airport and restaurant suggestions.
Great staff

The staff at the hotel is great. We checked in but forgot to indicate that we would bring our son. The staff was very accommodating and did their best to get an extra bed organized and changed our room. The staff (Mr Rul / Rud?) was fantastic and gave us a great over view of what to do in Lisbon and how to go about it and some very practical tips. Internet is fine, breakfast is typical European with some local favourites.
Beautiful views, comfortable rooms

Olissippo Castelo is a beautiful hotel located upon the hill that leads to the Castelo de S. Jorge. While seemingly tucked away along the narrow, winding roads, the rooms are spacious and boast gorgeous views of the city. We were upgraded upon check-in and enjoyed a beautiful suite with a huge balcony. The room was well-equipped, with a clean and modern bathroom, excellent wifi, and a tv. Breakfast included a good variety of foods and room service was prompt. There is comfortable seating in the lobby and a small business center where you can access a printer (very useful for those who need to print boarding passes). The staff stored our luggage in a secure room when we checked out before an evening flight.
I would not suggest trying to walk to the hotel upon first arrival if you are carrying suitcases or weighty bags given the cobblestones and narrow, uphill sidewalks, but otherwise, it took roughly 15 minutes of walking to reach the main sights/city center of Lisbon. There are also many beautiful stores, restaurants, and churches along the hill as you wind your way down to the city center – though you may have to explore to find them all! We had a good experience and would recommend to others.
