I have never stayed at a five star resort before the Lapa palace. A family member recommended we stay here, and let me tell you it does not dissappoint! It's not a cheap hotel, but the service is absolutely exceptional! The rooms and building itself are amazing! The concierge helped us pick restaurants to eat at and he would call a taxi for us and tell them in Portuguese where to drop us off - talk about service! The breakfast that is included with your room price is also wonderful! Ask to sit outside - it's so quaint and cozy. If you have the money and the time to spend in Lisbon, I HIGHLY recommend this hotel.

My wife and I spent three enjoyable night here while in Lisbon. This upscale hotel is in a quieter section of the city, but still easy walking to good local restaurants (the concierge was very helpful). The room was large and quiet and well appointed. We enjoyed the pool and my wife the Spa. The in hotel restaurant was more European than the local seafood, and very delicious. I would come back.

We stayed overnight before boarding a cruise. Got an Amex Upgrade and our room was fantastic. Large rooms. Large Baths. Staff was friendly, accommodating and helpful. Grounds were attractive. Gracie said she was sorry we were only staying one night. The room was that nice.
Other reviews liked the bar, we didn't get the chance to try. We sat in the bar for over 20 minutes and were not served, so we left and ultimately ordered drinks from room service.
Normally we would have just gone somewhere else, but this is what prompted the isolation comment. The Lapa Palace is located in the middle of nowhere. No shops, no restaurants, no bars, no nothing is near by. Too, if you want to eat before 7:30 pm you have to go off property or order from room service. Yes, we could have gotten a recommendation and taken a cab somewhere, but since we were only staying overnight, we did not want to mess with going out.
If one was in Lisbon for a few days or was familiar with the area, the isolation perhaps would not be an issue.

Very friendly personal, good location not too far away from the center. The food was good and the breakfast was very diverse and of good quality. Rooms were big and bed's are excellent. In the evening it was very nice in the bar with someone playing piano.

We are so tired of the regular luxury hotel. Here you feel pampered but in a Portuguese way... historic building in the embassy district , traditional bedding, Great room with huge deck... service unmatched ... highly recommended
