We drove down to Roberts cove with the intention of stopping at the inn for Sunday lunch. We were surprised to find the doors shut. We used to love visiting the inn in years gone by when we lived in Crosshaven. Unfortunately the inn appears to be closed for business at the moment. After talking to a local, it appears the owner (Denis Quinn) passed away in June and the business has been closed since.
A real shame.
Rest In Peace Denis.
Highly Recommed for food

Visited the Roberts Cove Inn for food yesterday evening, Sunday evening, and what a pleasant experience it was, the food was faboulous, the service was great.
I only ready the other Reviews from others this morning, and Im quite shocked at their negative reviews, as we found the experience very enjoyable yesterday evening.
We arrived unannounced 4 of us for a meal, and the staff couldnt have been more helpfull, the grumpy man that some people refer too in their reviews, must be the man who served us, we found him entertaining and helpfull, he helped us choose from the menu, and we got loads of extras which we werent charged for. I would say he has "dry wit" which we all enjoyed. I really couldn't fault him in any way, he actually made our trip interesting, and we enjoy the banter with him.
The food was amazing, delicious, we got plenty of everything, one of our party of 4 can be quite picky about food, and when he said he enjoyed it, and that we must come back there, that really is an indication of how good it really was. Between all 4 of us, we had starters of garlic mushrooms, chowder, wings, volauvent, and we all cleaned our plates, for mains we had 2 steaks, lamb, and fish, and again we got loads of everything, and we all ate everything, we had a bottle of wine as well, pint shandy, pint bulmers, all came to 120e, we thought it was excellent value for money. I couldnt praise this place highly enough, and we definately will be back. 3 of the group had never been there before, and I was there years ago, it is a drive for us, as we dont live on that side of the city, but we all vowed to make a return trip again.
We have eaten in lots of places and this is definately in our top 5 at the moment.
Go, try it, you will enjoy it.
Cosy and intimate atmospheare as well, a bit off the beaten track- true, but well worth a visit.
Out of this world

I love in cork and have been going to the Roberts cove inn to eat for the last 25 years and on every occasion the food has been exelent can not believe that some people are saying otherwise. The owner Dennis is a plesent man but he doesn't fall over you when your eating your meal would you want that any way? Sea food chowder is to die for and any thing off the menu is superb please don't be put off this lovely restaurant by some people's very negative comments!!!!

My husband and I and our little boy went to Roberts cove in for Sunday lunch to have a drink and relax . We arrived and sat a table place was nice and comfortable and cosy and we were handed menus. That was it for 25 minutes we sat there. No one came near us to ask did we want to order a drink never mind order food! The place had only 3 tables occupied so they were far from run off there feet. We waited another ten mins and then decided to leave as it was really disappointing no one took the slightest bit of interest in us! As we walked out the man that brought us to our table originally, looked at us and didn't even make any effort to find out if we were ok . The service was terrible and we won't be going back.
Lovely Sunday lunch

I had Plaice and my husband had lamb. Both dishes were substantial, nicely presented and freshly cooked and tasty. Denis, the owner was taking orders and as always, keeping an eye on everything running well. Staff were friendly and helpful. We had been driving around the area, Rocky Bay, Crosshaven, Ringabella and this was a lovely spot for lunch. There is a fantastic walk over the cliffs at Roberts Cove, with superb harbour views. We hadnt been to the Inn for a while but have been visiting there since childhood and were happy to have visited today.
