I stayed here on business, as this hotel was designated the overflow property for a conference held at the Marriott across the street. The morning after check in, I slipped and fell in the tub, which, as I've documented on video, is extremely slippery. I bruised my hip and reported it to management. The manager didn't give a hoot, basically tried to accuse me of lying. At the rates this place charges, you could stay somewhere else in DC - plenty to choose from. I won't ever stay there again.

Convenient location. Rooms are decorated very tastefully, with attention to details. The room service is great, the hotel is full of history. Be sure to check out the ballroom that used to be the swimming pool used by the Office of Strategic Services (OSS, forerunner of the CIA) in WWII, where secret devices were tested by our first Frogmen.The Maritime Division of the OSS was the became the foundation of today's Navy Seals.

This sprawling, older hotel is a convenient affordable venue for larger conferences who come to DC for lobby training and visits. Concierge helped me easily rent and a wheelchair I needed because I was temporarily disabled. Handicap access meant i needed to use freight and service elevators that were not as clean as public areas - unvacuumed carpet in service lobbies, ketchup splattered on elevator walls. The menu, food, and service at Roberts was better than the previous years, which is good because my temporary disability meant i ate multiple meals there at all times of day. Still, when you tell the hostess that you are worried about getting in and out rapidly, it is not helpful to be contradicted by the Hostess, that one has plenty of time. That is for the guest, not the staff to judge. Also more than once, a server's poor command of English led to confusion and delay in delivering what was ordered. So Roberts, was better than previous visits but the service aspect still needs work. ALAS, inexplicably management refuses to upgrade to energy efficient light bulbs in its thousands of sockets. This is disturbing, because we were attending the Citizens' Climate Lobby conference . We have used this hotel 5 times in the last 3 years, everytime actively commenting, including meeting with Management and engineering staff about the ease of upgrading to energy efficient lighting and easy savings to be gained. We are baffled by the Omni Hotels and Resorts' culture of resistance to the most basic energy conservation measures. WE are appalled at the inability/consistent refusal of the management to embrace energy efficiency. Dismayed that lighting fixtures continue to use outdated energy wasting incandescent light bulbs. LED substitutes are readily available and affordable, which provide cooler, higher quality light. We are baffled by management's inability to do the math and realize that across the lifecycle of the bulbs, there are tremendous savings in energy consumed, Carbon dioxide emitted, and labor costs related to replacing traditional bulbs, which last much less time. I literally cringe every time i turn on a lamp, or walk under a chandelier. Also temperature management in public spaces is abysmal. Meeting Room off restaurant was overheated in the afternoon and much too cold for the evening session.

We were disappointed: On arrival the parking People gave us a 15 min( "Not LONGER!) Limit to check in and leave our luggage in the room - which was almost impossible to do. Parking was $ 50.00 per night - ridiculous with enourmous amount of empty parking space. For free wlan you have to become a member of the Hotel Group - The " luxury room was old, used and only equipped with an old TV with snowy Picture etc, etc

The rooms' walls are thin. The rooms in the other wing of the hotel are hard to find especially because there are no signage. Rooms are outdated. I would not stay here again especially at current costs of room stay.
