Stayed for two nights. Great to have a private car park and to be able to walk into Whitby in 10 minutes. Our room was very large and well appointed. The bed was enormous and so comfortable. Everywhere was spotless. Food good. Owners very friendly and obliging. Would not hesitate to visit again.

We have just returned from a 2 day stay at Overdale guest house. I had arranged to take my son to the English Heritage Halloween event at the Abbey which was fantastic. The ghost walk at 7.30pm outside the Royal hotel was great also and well worth the £ 5.00 charge for adults and £ 3.00 for children. We stayed in room 2 which was a large twin bed room with on suite overlooking the garden. We ordered breakfast the evening we arrived and there was a good choice. Breakfast was served at 9.00am which suited our plans and we were both served promptly. Very comfortable beds and good night sleep as it was a quiet room. We enjoyed the short 10 minute walk into the centre and it was great to have in site parking. Very friendly hosts and have just noticed there is a current direct booking offer in between the end of October 17 to Feb 2018 which is an excellent deal. If you have not been to Whitby before I am sure you will enjoy both the area and the Overdale Guest house.

Only the second time I have visited Whitby and was blessed to choose Overdale as our base. Great location a short walk from the harbour.
We could not fault the accommodation, spacious, spotless and furnished to the highest standard I have experienced in a 'guest house'
Jayne and Keith were fantastic hosts and the breakfast was delicious.
I would highly recommend.

By far one of best b and so far.Susan was warm and friendly. She showed us the dinning room and guest lounge before our room
It was very inviting and spacious. Colour scheme was great
We had large walk in shower and access to outside with table and chairs
We slept so well we didn't wake up once lovely crisp linen and duvet.
In the morning we were served a lovely cooked breakfast with orange to drink and a selection of cereals and toast jam a marmalade tea and coffee. All this for £60.for two people.The very best western so far and will definitely return thank-you Susan

Having had 2 major surgeries and feeling the need for a restful break away from home, I booked a couple of nights in the Overdale with my Daughter. A big bonus in Whitby is being able to park outside and the driveway has been extended to accommodate visitors cars.
We were met by both Jayne and Keith and given a very friendly welcome. We were asked to remove our shoes on entry which we were happy to do. Jayne and Keith have clearly spent a great deal of time, money and effort to make their home as lovely as it is so keeping it that way is only fair!
We stayed in room 2, en-suite with twin beds. The beds were so comfortable and the room was spotlessly clean. Our en-suite was very well equipped and had a great shower.
Breakfast was freshly cooked to order at 9am. There was no rushing, no pressure to finish and go, quite the opposite actually, we had a good chat with our hosts.
The food was lovely, plenty of choice including smoked salmon and cooked as you would like it.
We had a fantastic, relaxing break and would go again in a heartbeat. Thank you Jayne and Keith for everything.
